  1. Hi all, I picked up a Murphys Chip for a 071 today, I had intended to buy two Bachmann 4 funct 21 pin chips but they didn't have any in Hawkins Street today. When I went to fit the chip tonight I found that the four screws that are located underneath the loco are very small. I did not have a philips type screwdriver to fit. Would anyone have the correct name/size of screwdriver required to loosen those four screws? Definitely a bit more fiddlier than the 201 chip fitting. Especially for the likes of myself. Thanks in advance for any advice that can be offered. Thanks also to Shem, Eamonn and Rich for advice on the chips themselves. Regards, Tommy.
  2. Thanks Dave - there seems to be lots of them on the market.
  3. Stephen many thanks for that - I might get one of those - I saw one on the Woodies website for around the same price but think I'd tend for the Halfords job.
  4. Hi Broithe, Many thanks for that and I'll keep an eye on their website.
  5. Hi, would anyone have a cheap soldering kit with flux, solder etc? - I just want to run a couple of bus wires around the layout and looking for a basic soldering kit. Thanks in advance. Tom.
  6. Well done Chevron, I think this is a great beginning. The sawmill, cottage and landscape are all very good.
  7. Class work as usual Ant and hugely adds to the realism of these locos. Stephen they'll look the business back on Amiens St.
  8. Looking forward to those trains Noel and agree with Rich that last photo is class, great scale and realism to it.
  9. Hi all, got another few bits done - diesel depot build, field/grass areas and walls being developed. The tracks are poor and need cleaning and ballasting but might try to replace some of that track.
  10. Love the bridge and the yard. The anglia crossing the bridge is class.
  11. Lovely of stone hoppers there and the NIR MV is also excellent. Great details, speed limit board, signals etc. Great stuff.
  12. Good luck with it Chevron, an expensive but rewarding hobby.
  13. Great stuff EP and looking forward to more pics and development of your layout. I used to have one of those engines many moons ago.
  14. Smashing shed and the DMU is class.
  15. The new diversion line and siding continue to be developed, the station has now moved to this side of the layout and the siding leads to a small goods station area. All now on the 'town' side. Also did a bit of work making embankments with paper mache and a bit of tidying. The engine/carriage shed was moved down the long straights beside the church and signal box and this area is now in the ' countryside.' Will continue to work on improving the scenics as time and resources allow. Thanks for taking a look.
  16. Love the 66 and the 31, cracking rolling stock and massive layout.
  17. They look great K, well done.
  18. Absolutely top class work which has manifested in amazing and authentic models.
  19. Apologies, thanks for that Dave.
  20. I have two Hornby Wagons; 1 van and one open, the van is boxed. Also one 0 gauge buffer stop. Willing to swap for track if anyone is interested and has straight track to swap. Many thanks.
  21. Kirley as per usual the photos of your layout and work are top drawer and always a pleasure to follow the thread. Did they use JCBs and move them like that on CIE in the 70s? Is that low loader identical to the one that big Dave was flogging recently?
