  1. Too good to be true! http://www.trainsandtrack.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&path=35_43&product_id=1520
  2. Well done to Paul this is a fantastic looking layout and I second Bos ...more pics.
  3. Amazing work, everything about the layout is top drawer stuff but I especially love this last photo of the tank engine, the PW and the platform edging, the unkempt look adds magnificent realism and atmosphere.
  4. Came across these today and may be of interest to some.
  5. A bit of running and some sounds that we all love to hear. [video=youtube_share;QfrhY2cTtGc]
  6. Lovely rake of Ballasters there Eamonn and it takes a class layout like Ballybeg to really set them off.
  7. At least there was no fatalities with this one but again highlights the dangers of accommodation crossings, when road and rail vehicles cross paths there is bound to be collisions at one time or another. http://www.irishmirror.ie/news/irish-news/postmans-miracle-escape-after-train-3139212
  8. She looks even more amazing with each development.
  9. Apologies if this has been put up already but some great clips in it. For the likes of Eamon and myself there are some great film shot on the D.S.E.R. Enjoy it!
  10. Lovely layout in the making here and love the rolling stock. Congratulations on adding the sound fitted locos. Looking forward to developments.
  11. It's fairly rough riding all right Dave, the car manufacturer is getting the quality control done on those suspensions for free! Do you know anything about the loco hauling the train? Looks like a Russian or Eastern European built machine? Thanks for posting.
  12. Apologies for delay minister, this is in a friend's shed so next time I'm down I'll check that out.
  13. It is an amazing project and great to see a model of this premier station.
  14. Thanks for sharing, brilliant video Warbonnet.
  15. No, not a chance, although I've seen Eamonn's one running with sound and I would love it. My next project will be a chip for 111 from the Belfast Model Shop and I will chance that myself as it's not too difficult. The last chip I put in a 071 was the authentic murphys chip and it went up in smoke! So I brought it back to Marks and Jim sorted her out with a new chip no problem. Thanks again irishthump and I will be going at another 141 class - cab removal - to get a driver in position.
  16. Hi irishthump, I managed it thanks to your advice. I still found it quite difficult to free those tabs, was using a small screwdriver and they needed a lot of effort. I changed a 181 back to dc and converted a 141 to dcc. Also had to remove the handrails off the 141 and a tricky to get back on if you don't have a small tweezers. I don't have the skills for this stuff and wouldn't dare do a speaker/sound conversion of a 141/181. Compared to chipping a 201, they are awkward and fidgety.
  17. Hi irishthump, Many thanks for this advice, it is that squeezing of the body which puts me off completely so I will definitely give this method a go. Much appreciated.
  18. Great pics of the PW work and love the tamper and, the lights and the lookout man
  19. Hi all, I have a 181 and she's not running too well on DCC. I want to take the chip out and put it into another member of the same class. I have only ever chipped one of these locos and thought it a bit tricky as the body seemed to need a lot of force to free up and remove. Would anyone be in a position to post a few simple tips/instructions as to how to tackle this job correctly? Thanks in advance.
  20. Well done Irishthump. Great sounds here and you'll convert all of us over to these BMS sound chips.
  21. Is it worth putting a donor chassis under the old 201s, and what is a suitable co co chassis for one? I'm amazed at the prices some of those old Lima 201 and 2xcarriage sets fetch - when you think of the amazing running of the Murphys 201s and fantastic Mark IIs now available? Each to his/her own I suppose - you spend your money and make your choices.
  22. Doing a bit of cleaning in a friend's shed over the weekend and came across this signal indicator. Brings back memories of the clinking and clanking of signal boxes and the smell of paraffin oil on semaphores.
