Before they turn it over, they're doing the initial test on the 5'3" track in Victoria.

I heard that they are rebuilding A39 upside down, to make work on the bogies easier, before turning it over for the first test runs - and so that the pictures of the progress will appear on here the right way up.

The amount of taxpayer's money thrown at the railways here, compared to the BR days, is truly staggering. I know people that work for NR and the money flows like (unmetered) water. And yet, although I live on the West coast Mail Line, I took a train here for the first time in eight years the other day - and then only to Birmingham. -
EU and the European Court of Human Rights are not really connected - The Court is a function of the Council of Europe, which has 47 member states, not just the 28 EU ones - almost everybody, except Belarus - even Russia, Turkey, Iceland, Norway and Switzerland.

They're not quite as separate as, say, Canada, Australia and New Zealand are. I believe that IoM's Defense and Foreign Affairs are handled from Westminster. Anybody is free to secede, if they can cope with the obstructions. A large part of their 'function' now seems to be tax avoidance schemes, though that is more prevalent in the Channel Isles.

Indeed the IoM isn't, and never has been in the EU, the same applies to the Channel Islands. Hence the rather strange tax arrangements that go on. The Queen is, rather strangely, actually Lord of Man.

Might just be an 'odd one' that came over for some reason - maybe even just used as a disposable crate for something and not worth returning when they became redundant over here. Might not even have travelled by rail there at all.

At Dawlish, it is to do with wave-washing - the first one is in London, also a flooding issue, I believe - it occurs all over the place. They must use a fair-sized eye-dropper, I wounder is it's painted yellow?
