  1. Thanks lads. I have a load of palettes, oil drums and bits to be painted and sitting around the yard. Also need a load of pre-painted figures (expensive!) And of course, more work in the ground surface. Bought a static grass starter kit so that will be worth experimenting with.
  2. Thank you friends, do I need to add more grey to kill the brown base?
  3. Progress this weekend.....
  4. Gerry, must say the model looked fantastic and I was really impressed with what can be done in such small space. Well Done, glad I went.
  5. I have made a submission to the local district council and this has been passed on the appropriate department.
  6. Will make the effort to get there
  7. Ken, really taking shape. Lovely piece if work.
  8. The plan is to launch it in town with a presentation of GNR(i) tickets, luggage labels, timetables and photographic slideshow. I've also written an in depth history of Omagh too.
  9. I'm just sorry the model won't be ready for enniskillen show 21st September
  10. After a terrible effort at using cinders to ballast my goods yard, I lifted all as it looked terrible. I replaced my baseboard top and repainted with 'scorched earth' exterior emulsion. I relayed the track, placed my walls and railings and now I'm ready to start some of the finer detailing in the yard. Having checked colour photos of Omagh goods yard I plan on using a mix of grey and brown. Pics taken today.
  11. Anyone know where I can buy tubular iron type cattle pens as used on the cattle dock at Omagh.
  12. Very nice indeed
  13. Patrick, just sitting there loosely and will change slightly.
  14. Forming the boundary around the Goods Yard
  15. When I visited some 20years ago I couldn't help notice that you had to go through a bedroom to get to the kitchen

  17. Doors, windows fitted and hinged!
  18. Roofing contractor moving in today to replace slates
  19. Think I may have over-sized my roofing slates
  20. This is the original plumbers store I photographed back in May 1988.
  21. Great to see this layout again, love it
  22. Not the easiest of buildings as this is so small.
  23. Took a step back in an effort to slow my enthusiasm down. Started scratch building the plumbers store this morning, a small red brick building which sat in the goods yards. Photos will follow
  24. Looks very interesting, I think the QT is the way to go! Sometimes too much advice can be an obstacle.
