  1. Yes, I've been running an old tender driven 0-6-0 with wagons and it is running really well.
  2. Embankment foam cut and stuck in place. Sealed with brush coat of PVA.
  3. Embankments cut - will place high density foam (Kingspan type) and form embankments after wiring. Avoiding paris plaster this time. Also managed to pick up nice Coles Yard Crane on eBay to complete the scene in yard. Flat bed lorries and crane will look well.
  4. Drilled all holes today for droppers and point motors. Also installed Gaugemaster Shuttle and wiring to allow goods train to run independently in and out of goods store.
  5. John, Thank you so much for your help in finding one of these cranes. At least I know what I'm looking for.
  6. I'm planning on using a Gaugemaster Shuttle on the inside road that runs the entire length of the shed. Set on a timer it will also prevent locos running too far and crashing into the Buffet on the outside of the store entrance.
  7. Track laid today and wired temporarily. It is a very simple shunting line that resembles Omagh after a lot of post 1957 changes when a double crossing was lifted at the cattle dock and Point removed exiting the store.
  8. You are a real gentleman, Thank you so much. Couldn't be better.
  9. I am remembering a couple of UTA buses to suit my layout. I wonder if anyone has an old UTA Bus timetable that would show bus locations and route numbers so I can be as authentic ad possible.
  10. I haven't seen a yard crane like this one on rubber tyres so maybe I'll have to scratchbuilt using parts from other products.....
  11. Lovely scene Patrick, the well landscaped scene creates an impression of depth, I love it
  12. Some nice views of Omagh Goods Store....
  13. Belmullet is a lovely name for this new revised project, good luck with it.
  14. Thanks folks, I think the next step is to play around with my track work.
  15. Another bit of detail added using Slaters lettering. As was with the original Goods Store, stonemason Phelix McRory cut a stone with the date 1955, when the original roof was lowered.
  16. Time to look at the track layout again and see how all this can work.
  17. Final touches to roof, to me it's done. Time to move onto the next stage. Thanks for all the advice, encouragement and feedback.
  18. I have to add some yellow ochre which will look like brown when it dries, that's for tomorrow
  19. Bear with me friends.... I have just weathered it with a wide fitch, dry brushed to simulate the sooty, Smokey conditions of a 1950s goods yard. I'm really pleased with it and photos will follow.
  20. Very informative comments there David. I've given it another coat with some shading of darker greys. Nothing too strong. I think I will leave it alone for a while and move on to other things, this will give me time to see how it looks as the drying paint dulls down.
  21. Dart8118, Thanks for that, including the picture. There are several challenges with this roof, compared to the smaller lean-to. The vast area, combined with skylights make it difficult to maintain a consistent acceptable finish. Finally, I am so critical of my work that if i don't feel that it is right, it won't be.
  22. Yes indeed, slate and asbestos are two different colours. I got this colour today which is very close to what I'm after. It is a cement/concrete colour and this is a first coat, without weathering.....
  23. The roof in the background is slate, the goods store was asbestos.
