  6. Sounds good hunslet.. Maybe room for a helipad too fit in a gazelle or puma helicopter
  7. In love with the detail of your layout.. especially the scenes with the RUC & Army units really captures the period very well.. Love the RUC and it's anti barrack buster walls..
  8. The ports mobile crane readies itself for loading of bulk goods into lower hold. IE171 slows as it enters the fuel loading siding. A Harbour Police Constable man's a vehicle check point into part of the ports security restricted area. A good mix of freight takes up the sidings including OTA Timber wagon, container flats and a full fuel train. The MV TITAN which is flagged out of Galway is ready for loading.
  9. An old photo but one of my favourites busy evening in the port as the last of the liner traffic is unloaded for the evening cargo ship. A commuter DHU heads towards the seaside town of Ballinamore. An IE "Support Unit" Mitsubishi Shogun 4x4 Jeep can also been in foreground. One of my creations for my garda fleet along with my oxford discast examples..
  10. http://m.ebay.ie/itm/381166482696?_mwBanner=1 Sorry burnthebox I forgot to answer your question. It was from the skaledale range.
  11. Thanks mate.. I love the small details that we see everyday.. I think it's what bring no layout alive. I'm wracking my brains with plans I like the idea of tail chaser but in my port to fit in
  12. Does anyone know has this been released yet? Cheers MJ
  13. I havery been attending variations of this show for the past 18 years from the victor and marine hotel in dun laoghaire to this show in stillorgan. Really enjoyed the show today, a nice atmosphere and good barains on the various stalls
  14. Cheers Boskonay. .. have to blame the well timed Marks Models sale and adverts on Facebook I got 7071, 071 and Galway EGV to complete my set and few Oxford die casts. . My outline is a hornby complete trackmat type design at the moment extended to 8x4 and spur line towards the port with a loop bringing the trains back.. Or something like that..
  15. Cheers IRM I've already built the first section of my layout.. http://irishrailwaymodeller.com/showthread.php/168-Fingal-County I had just wondered had there been any advancements since I built it a few years ago Cheers for the tip though..
  16. Good info thanks lads.. I used MDF with cork flooring as a top for the track on the port section seems to have been a good choice.. just wa ted to check in case anything new had come on the market
  17. Evening guys, What type of wood do you use a base? I'm thinking 8'4 as next part of my layout.. I remember sundela use to be popular in the UK years ago.. Cheers MJ
  18. It's an wet & windy here so no better way to plan out the expansion by having the stove lit & a good war movie on the TV. . Admiring my new purchases too.. The extensions should measure 8 foot by 2 or 4 foot so now go the drawing board.. Thanks for welcome back lads MJ
