K801 Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 Hi, a quick question than I'll delete after Monday I'll be in Charleville tomorrow and while the parents visit cousins their, I was thinking of grabbing a train ride. It looks like not much stops there nowadays but I was wondering if anybody knows how far I could go with a day return to/from Charleville, is it possible to get to Kerry and back? ( I cant see the timetable properly on an old phone and station office looks unmanned) Also, anything interesting to see in the Charleville area? Seen this cool siding in Charleville station. Thanks 1 Quote
Broithe Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 This is what I see for tomorrow, that might be possible for a day trip. Charleville Tralee 10:59 12:58 12:58 14:58 Tralee Charleville 13:05 15:02 15:05 17:02 17:05 19:02 1 Quote
mmie353 Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 Well from Charleville, you would go to Mallow and from there, head for Killarney and as Broithe would from there to go Tralee. Not sure if you need to get on another train or not from Mallow to go to Kerry as I used to always head from Charleville towards Dublin if I was using the train. 1 Quote

Broithe Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 There is one through train on the way back from Tralee to Charleville, but it's probably too late for a 'day trip'. 1 Quote

Yes I did, many thanks for your and everybody's help. Was sad to see no GSRPS, Bell container terminal or KE busses in Mallow And I did wonder why they just didn't build a new station in Killarney next to the line to Tralee instead of a parking lot and 10 minutes of faffing about going back and forward. No sticks of rock as no trolley service anymore because of short staffed, Covid, Trump, N Korea, interest rates, train to hot no a/c etc. 1 Quote
