Georgeconna Posted January 23, 2024 Posted January 23, 2024 Brace call for sure and welcome given the debates on various forums. So the lights issue on the A classes could be fixed by IRM?, squeaky bogies? 3 1 Quote
NIRCLASS80 Posted January 23, 2024 Posted January 23, 2024 Thanks for this IRM. As models get more expensive it’s reassuring to deal with a company who stands by their products. 2 Quote
DJ Dangerous Posted January 23, 2024 Posted January 23, 2024 Absolutely bowled over by this. Mind. Blown. Thank you so much, IRM and Accurascale! Incredible news for the double-jobbing workaholic hoarders like me. 5 Quote
spudfan Posted January 25, 2024 Posted January 25, 2024 It appears since this announcement has been made, Iarnród Éireann are considering purchasing all future motive power from IRM. 1 11 Quote

DJ Dangerous Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Slight update to the lifetime warranty process posted on RmWeb: Quote Not super impressed with the response from Accurascale on this. There is a new warranty policy "to prioritise genuine warranty cases" which is that the item must be returned at my cost, after paying a £5 application fee. Provided the warranty claim is accepted, the £5 and postage cost will be reimbursed by way of a discount code against future purchases from the Accurascale website. So the customer is out of pocket, ok by a small amount, until such a time as they might choose to use the saving against another purchase. In my case I am sure I will use the discount code at some point, but even so it's not a genuine reimbursement. I understand there may be a need to manage the risk of false claims but it doesn't feel like the previously excellent service I've received from AS. My own opinion but I am not convinced a £5 "reimbursable" fee will deter someone trying to claim for their own damage, but it is irritating as a genuine customer with a genuine problem. The last warranty return I had with them was brilliant. Ironically for the exact same surging motor problem, just a different loco (class 92). They supplied a free return post label, I sent it back, and a few weeks later it reappeared fixed. How it should be, IMO. Maybe I have been spoiled by what was previously a standout experience for the right reasons. Quote
