I suspect they are a bit closer to an MGW P class

The similar J72 was used for J26 conversions during the late 70s

The overall length of the NER E Class is similar ton the P J10/614 while the wheelbase is closer though the wheelbase is closer (5" longer) than an E J26/551.

The P Class wheelbase is 15" longer than NER loco.

Its a big ask I know but would anyone have photos of the cab interior of the MGWR E/J26? I cant for the life of me establish whether they were screw or lever reverse and which side that was mounted on etc etc

had a 'solid reversing wheel' according to a Decade of Steam, along with a 'butterfly regulator' and the somewhat infamous (to GS men anyway) letterbox firehole door.

That's a view of 560 I hadn't seen before. Very useful.

Also I thought the photo showed the engine as black but, when I looked closely, it was actually a very very very very very very very dark grey.

Looks very promising and I would be eager for some of these prints. Just curious, what's the donor chassis for the A?

Many thanks for those, theyll be very useful, one thing Ive just noticed about the photo of 557 is it still has lamp irons on the rear bufferbeam, a hangover from MGWR days, at least one of the Waterford and Tramore examples also appears to have kept them on the rear

Ive started designing the Atock vacuum pipe, and Im debating whether itd be better to just have it as a piece (or two) of brass rod, this isnt supported anywhere other than where it meets the running board and at the apex of the smokebox where it hinges, itd also be very hard to paint (brass?) the way its routed between the sandbox and smokebox. I might have the hinge printed and have a brass rod meet it at each side, we shall see

Killian,

Zooming in on this photo gives probably the highest quality shot one can hope for.

You could use the fitting for the brass pipe to the flexible as a support, printed to the smokebox door. There seems to be a kind of metal strap support from the flexi pipe to the tank also?

I think the best bet could be printed as separate detail with plugs into the smokebox door?

A discussion on the vaccum pipe can be found here
