Ballyconnel Road in MRJ

Congratulations to the Ballyconnel Road team, whose layout features in Model Railway Journal 249. A very enjoyable read it is too, helped by avoiding the 'how I began with Hornby' syndrome and enhanced by some fine photos of this lovely layout.

MRJ rarely strays offshore and in 250 editions (it began with Issue 0...), the number of layouts outside Great Britain is probably still in single figures.

While I haven't seen the MRJ article yet, it has featured in New Irish Lines in the past and it certainly is an excellent layout.

Finescale 3mm layouts are fairly rare, British TT/3mm became pretty much a minority interest when Triang withdrew their TT range in the early 1960s. Popular in parts of Europe Tillig produce RTR TT at mouth watering prices https://www.tillig.com/

If you google Ballyconnell Road model railway and then select 'images', you will see it in all its glory and detail - it is a beautiful piece of work, locos, rolling stock and scenery - there's even a working road.
