0 Garfield Posted October 7, 2017 Posted October 7, 2017 There’s also a Bulleid open on static display at Dunsandle station, Co Galway, on the old Loughrea branch.
0 jhb171achill Posted October 7, 2017 Posted October 7, 2017 I had thought of getting a couple to the DCDR at one time, but money for transport was tight!
0 decauville1126 Posted October 7, 2017 Posted October 7, 2017 Last time I was at Dromod there was one in the bushes of the old goods yard in the 'V' formed by the main line and the 3' gauge line.
0 jhb171achill Posted October 8, 2017 Posted October 8, 2017 I thought the DCDR had one. Not a corrugated one - unless it's arrived very recently indeed. There are, between Downpatrick & Whitehead, a couple of wooden ones of NCC origin.
0 Noel Posted October 8, 2017 Posted October 8, 2017 Here's the one at Halfway Hi Des, please forgive my ignorance, but what or where is 'Halfway'? Thanks, Noel Halfway down the stairs!
0 Weshty Posted October 8, 2017 Posted October 8, 2017 Hi Noel Halfway is about 8 miles from Cork City on the main Bandon road. Past Ballinhassig, and 5 mile before Inishannon. 5 miles after the Chetwynd viaduct
0 Noel Posted October 8, 2017 Posted October 8, 2017 Hi Noel Halfway is about 8 miles from Cork City on the main Bandon road. Past Ballinhassig, and 5 mile before Inishannon. 5 miles after the Chetwynd viaduct Thanks Des. Are the wagons stored at some sort of heritage facility, museum, club, or in a public space. Noel
0 Weshty Posted October 8, 2017 Posted October 8, 2017 Hi Noel, They're stored out in the open at the back of the Ramble Inn (which is closed the last time I was there). You can see them from the main road though.
0 popeye Posted October 8, 2017 Posted October 8, 2017 Bullied open wagon at Dunsandle Co Galway. I don't know if it is still there but here is a picture.
0 jhb171achill Posted October 8, 2017 Posted October 8, 2017 Red paint!!!!!!! Aaarrrrrgggghhhhh my eyes hurt.....
0 Mayner Posted October 9, 2017 Posted October 9, 2017 Red paint!!!!!!! Aaarrrrrgggghhhhh my eyes hurt..... The black running gear looks even better . It might calm down once the paint starts to fade, Some friends had "BR Bauxite" specially formulated for a narrow gauge brake van in the UK. The van eventually faded from a salmon pink when freshly painted to a much darker shade
0 jhb171achill Posted October 9, 2017 Posted October 9, 2017 Better than nothing. .....in a black'n'white photo! And this common obsession with entirely incorrect Hornby-compatible black chassis! I'm going to get my smelling salts.
0 Junctionmad Posted October 9, 2017 Author Posted October 9, 2017 Thanks for the feedback lads , I'll arrange to visit one of these in the next month
