where can I visit and photo a real bullied single sided beet wagon

I had thought of getting a couple to the DCDR at one time, but money for transport was tight!

Last time I was at Dromod there was one in the bushes of the old goods yard in the 'V' formed by the main line and the 3' gauge line.

There are, between Downpatrick & Whitehead, a couple of wooden ones of NCC origin.

Halfway is about 8 miles from Cork City on the main Bandon road. Past Ballinhassig, and 5 mile before Inishannon. 5 miles after the Chetwynd viaduct

They're stored out in the open at the back of the Ramble Inn (which is closed the last time I was there). You can see them from the main road though.

The black running gear looks even better .

 

It might calm down once the paint starts to fade,

 

Some friends had "BR Bauxite" specially formulated for a narrow gauge brake van in the UK. The van eventually faded from a salmon pink when freshly painted to a much darker shade
