I've just had an e-mail from Andy Cundick telling me that Courtmacsherry is featured in the latest edition.

His reason for telling me is that his layout has a few of my (Michael's) corrugated opens on it.

Just read that now,  It Certianly is a very nice layout with the Character of Courtmac shinging through along with nice Stock. Thanks for Flagging it up.

The Brown stone walling Struck me as being slightly off. That colour stone is just not down here.

The stonework on Court has since been finished in the appropriate shades the photos were taken over a year ago when the layout was still unfinished hence the lack of names over the shops and the unfinished detailing such as point rodding and the bare bits of the harbour(any idea how boring making lobster pots are). The text for the article was the result of a ten minute phonecall  and unfortunately they didn't pickup on the unfinished nature of the layout.Anyway enough mea culpas for now Andy.

Andy, that explains a lot - I wondered at the lack of text - for your skills and methods deserve a book-ful of comment. The sooner we get out of this virus-filled - ZOOM-World the better!

I hope that Court gets over to Ireland for others to see just what a super piece of modelling it is.

A lovely piece of modelling. I hope we may see it at the Cheltenham show sometime in the future. I very much enjoyed Valencia Harbour there back in October 2015.

I'll warn you when she does, planning is going on for the next one which like being Ballinacarthy Junction, but that doesn't explain why i'm just finishing a GN Pp and a K15,what larks Andy.

Sometimes truth can be stranger than fiction! In the summer of 1958 or 1959 a wooden-bodied GNR coach, still bearing GNR crests and brown livery, worked on the West Cork system for a short time!

Talking of the GNR stock in strange places - one of RTR Dapol commissions I did was of a GNR open wagon -  based on a John Langford photo taken at Courtmacsherry when it had a CIE stencil as well as the "GN".

Maybe I should do a few more ......
