    With better lighting and painted shaded, and weathered the hard standing in this area is coming along nicely.

    Layout update. For the first time in a long time I got the chance to work on the layout. Spent the day working on the "concrete" around the large shed and putting down the first layers of paint. Great to be working on it again. Excuse the bad lighting.

    I know the lads a long time from when they set up their airsoft shop. Very passionate and easy to deal with and show genuine interest in their customers projects.

    As disappointing as I'm sure the news is for some, IRM's openness and honesty I'm sure we can all agree is brilliant in keeping its customers up to date on issues. From my point of view at least.

    While I would like to see a IRM take on these two, I'm going to go with some form of steam. As there does not seem to be an accessible model from a competitive price point. I'm open to correction on that but that's just from my knowledge on what is available.

    I'll shop around some more and see if i can find better. I'm in no rush to finish it anyway right now until I decide what livery. Maybe NS or one of the other big five. Maybe a small regional line or maybe make one up for that classic "my railway, my rules" vide.

    The only real draw back is the detailing parts have to come from the states. I was looking at a ditch lighting kit to add, which is inexpensive the shipping and customs charge is ridiculous. I'm a fan of the SD40 myself but not the current livery so have a few ideas to change it.

    Update: All the brass eched non-slip walkways fitted from cannon & company. Also added was cast snow plow to the lead end and hoses from details west.

    156 arrives into the yard marking the first run under the bridge. The addition of the staging area now allows all lines now to be reached. Plenty of shunting action to come. 20240829_114618.mp4

    Current project underway cause I didn't have enough. Having pickup up my first non irish American locomotive I've set about adding details with a view to livery change and weathering. Beginning with replacing and updating the motherboard and adding sound the next step is adding fuel tank details along with brass non slip walkways.

    I can appreciate that, I was exactly the same.

    I can't speak to if your board needs replacing completely or if the lost of a single pin would even effect your loco or the functions. The board upgrade @DJ Dangerousspoke about was my first experience of locomotive electronics. That being said if I can help, I'm more then happy too.

    There is just something about American tractive power. After recently picking up my first American locomotive, an Athearn SD40. I decided to update and increase the detailing of the locomotive. Starting with adding sound. Firstly removing the old eight pin motherboard and replacing it with a new 21pin motherboard with speaker and sound decoder from DCC concepts. 20240814_183234.mp4
