    Great start. When you start scenery though, the level crossing might look a bit odd if it only extends over two tracks ! Great clean work though.

    the JT would be an easier undertaking as the splashers on the J26 would be tight, if the 7mm experience is anything to go by.

    Currently working on my 4th loco from Roger. Great little kits and well thought out with a fold up chassis. As you say Colin, the cast w/m parts aren’t a deal breaker. I often swap them out anyway for lost wax alternatives.

    Looks great David. I think it’s worth experimenting with a red truck (maybe try a painted card overlay as a trial ). On balance I think the two tone cab should stay, as it would have allowed seamless swaps for maintenance when 10’s regular can required attention. Although I do see what Alan means !

    Not my scale, not my era, not my thing, but these are terrific and ideal way for people to dip their toe into doing some modelling for themselves. Great work!!

    Colin - it’s probably just as easy to build an SSM kit to 21mm gauge as try to fiddle with an OO gauge model, and creating an extra 4.5mm of clearance within the body shell. At least one of the drawings you are after will be inModel Railway Constructor, early 70s - Tim Cramer’s J26. Roger Crombleholme has main outline drawings of J18 and G2.

    Tasty !! I’m building the same chassis arrangement right now, which has floating axles at each end. No easy solution with such things….

    1875 plan allowed for a Bundoran-Sligo railway. This was abandoned in 1878 when the SLNC was authorised instead.

    As a member of the Gauge O Guild, I have read some of the on-the-ground comments from the group concerned. The miscreants seem to have been frustrated burglars in search of cash. They made off with about £30 and two old vacuum cleaners…..

    Incredible bargains. You can buy an O gauge steam loco for less than the price of a 4 wheel o gauge van!

    Such sad news. Never met Ken but his modelling- and approach to it - were inspiring. Combined talent with humility.
