  1. Probably defeats the purpose of the streamlining. Too many different VAT and customs regimes around the world. Easier to sell it as is and let the recipient pay tax on arrival. Plus, you have the incompetent boobs at An Post who are going to ignore the DDP paperwork as they frequently do, then Accurascale have to deal with even more work because of the subsequent claims.
  2. My Estrella sleepers appear to be about 305mm-ish.
  3. How about your ONE customer in the Canary Islands? Part of Spain but not part of the EU for customs and taxes. Postage also difficult due to the geography, usually more expensive.
  4. Kind of the same thing. I paid what I thought was insane money for a 111 last year, and they're now going for one and a half times that. What's a bargain to one may be a rip-off to another, and what's a price-gouge today may be a bargain tomorrow. Plus, that Bachmann steam set was savage value. No way you could say that wasn't a bargain.
  5. Thanks! I'd never heard of them until a year or so back, and never seem to see their products for sale anywhere.
  6. If you go back a year or two, 141's and 181's outstripped 071's for resale value, or at least were on par. The arrival of the 121's and the A's, combined with the likelihood of a new run of 141's / 181's has put paid to the resale prices to some extent. If IRM or Paddy Murphy were to say that they were working on an 071 / 111 project and hoping to have it on the shelves in two or three years time, I reckon that would eat into the resale value of the 071's to some extent. Not for all, obviously, but for many people, I believe that it would make a difference. If not, then maybe next year they'll literally be selling for €750 a pop.
  7. Yup, I saw that they have a website.
  8. Who are Cavalex models? They aren't mentioned here too often, something about having to abandon a loco project because Hornby re-tooled their own version, but that's it. I saw a video somewhere, and it appears to be too guys named Cav and Alex. Hatton's don't appear to stock their range.
  9. Did he say that the coaches are 1:93,5 scale? Disappearing drivers are definitely a neat idea!
  10. I found some of that piece of text online, but was hoping for a bit more.
  11. Hi-Story HS315GR Toyota Starlet GT Turbo, the 1989 EP82 variant, pre-headlamp masks and with the full length light strip across the boot. These cars looked black in real life but had a very faint green flip / tint, which Hi-Story have managed to replicate.
  12. Not so sure that they are bargains but sharing them here increases the odds of them going to somebody who is a genuine enthusiast, whatever the price. Seller might be flexible, somebody might be prepared to pay a big whammy to find that one missing loco, or IRM might drop some more photos of themselves measuring and scanning the real-life locos and put the kybosh on the current market prices.
  13. Yeah, I found some wierd stuff while searching for Ashburton Grove!
  14. What did you say about no more 071's this decade???
  15. It sounds like a bit more than they cost when they were new?
  16. Not quite sure if they're bargains, but they may be to some... 18. I assume that he has double track, using one controller for each track, using points and crossovers for the loop?
  19. Maybe post a photo of the underside of the points themselves. What points are they?
  20. Yup. If you open the photo and zoom in, you can see it written on the cabside.
  21. You could try removing one of the couplers from the NEM socket and gluing a very fine silver of plastic card either underneath the coupler to raise it, or above the coupler to lower it. When dry, pop it back in. Which one to raise or lower depends on use. Might make more sense to do one loco rather than a load of coaches, if that's all it's going to haul. If the loco's going to haul a variety of stock, and everything is fine aside from the Mk2D's, then modifying the Mk2D couplings makes more sense. I'm sure that @Noelhas written about this, or something similar, previously.
  22. Bachmann do the SR's both with and without smoke deflectors. P.S.: Every off-topic post is considered a promisory note to buy one of John's wagons when he gets rolling again...
  23. IRM Ballast wagons going for peanuts: https://www.donedeal.ie/hobbies-for-sale/irish-railway-models-ballast-wagons/33329806 Taras, both blues and browns: https://www.donedeal.ie/hobbies-for-sale/irish-railway-models-tara-mines-wagons/33329819 Outstanding price for the entire Bachmann Irish trainset, DCC fitted: https://www.donedeal.ie/hobbies-for-sale/bachman-irish-railway-train-set-dcc-fitted/33168752 All from the same guy. That Bachmann set, wow, I'd snap that up in a second if I were up in Ireland. Almost tempted to not share it with you lot and somehow plot to get it for myself!
  24. Much cheaper than the official Irish ones, like €40 or €50 vs. €150 or €200, and looks Irish-ish enough for me.
