  1. Yeah, wouldn't want my Coco Pops tasting like sardines.
  2. I assume that some sort of disposable plastic inner liner is used each time those tanks are filled?
  3. The Leyland RH's would have run in this livery from 1995 until 2000, more or less? Was it the single-deck City Swifts that started in 1993? And then the blue and cream livery was born in 1999? Might be an idea to merge this thread with the other one on the same topic:
  4. I haven't seen Dana's in ages! Don't see them in any of the recent YT videos. If there were two tanktainers (are they called spider tankers?) per flat, they were empty, so?
  5. Two packages of awesomeness arrived today, with thanks to @WRENNEIRE for one of them!
  6. Imagine another batch of 071's being ordered, aesthetically identical to the original batch for commonality of spares etc, but with brand new environmentally friendly innards! They could paint them in A Class lined green 'cause they'd be so green.
  7. Thanks, TTC, that's awesome to know - so even one or two of those five would look appropriate in a mid-nineties layout with IR logos added?
  8. Do you know when the IR logos were applied to those five Cravens coaches and when they were removed, TTC? Apologies if this question has already been answered.
  9. Interesting thread. As JHB says, with no mention of Tin Vans at all, it's very important that photos such as these are watermarked with a warning before publishing or sharing privately. It would be a great idea to remove already published photos and replace with watermarked versions. It is impossible to imagine today the use / mis-use that may befall the images in the future.
  10. I'm just not that privileged. For the next thirty years, my trains will be lucky to be run once every few months. The rest of the time, they are a daily reminder of the light at the end of tunnel. Most of my 121's were sitting back at an angle, with either broken or disconnected hand rails, and they have to be removed from the packaging entirely for display.
  11. Only realising now that we're actually pretty close to seeing the A's for real soon. How the years have passed. I wonder how many people will be struggling to balance their budget for a few A's without forefeiting a post-lockdown trip down here. Have you guys decided on packaging, yet? The 121's were badly let down by packaging, being useless for both transport and for display. I read that the 201's suffered from the plastic being too thin at the loco ends, with locos ripping through it in transit and subsequently bouncing around inside the boxes. One or two of my 201's did suffer damaged ends due to moving around inside the plastic, but didn't actually rip through it. The 071 / 201 / IRM wagon style packaging is the best so far for display, though. Sit the box back into the upturned lid and it's visually perfect. Maybe a few pieces of removeable foam at the ends, between loco and plastic, with slightly thicker plastic, would be the best way to go.
  12. Wow, lovely photos. Are they gonna let the last of the Mk3's rust away, and paint 216 into the "Tippex" livery that never was?
  13. Yeah, €150 for two Mk3 Execs. Grey 071's, NIR 071's, another run of 141's, mk4 sets with DVT's, Enterprise coaches, MM Mk3 EGV's in Enterprise livery to go with IRM's forthcoming Enterprise sets, lots of yellow stuff, RoadLiner trucks, green Dublin buses, a B&I ferry, an O Gauge 071 and a partridge in a pear tree.
  14. I offered €40 each but they politely declined.
  15. I thought that they were less than £300 STG when new? 350% mark-up?
  16. Shocking pitch indeed, but it's great for working on the leg muscles. None of that namby pamby level stuff down here. Still... Small price to pay for...
  17. Happy Paddy's Day to one and all, lovely weather for it!
  18. That's it, Ernie, thank you! I'm pretty sure you were the one who told me about it first time around!
  19. If I find the website again, I'll let you know!
  20. I'd love to see videos of the loading and unloading of both. I'm sure that somebody here on the forum gave me the name of a company who have a DVD on sale, featuring the unloading of the Tara's, but by the time I got around to ordering, I had lost the link to order via!
  21. Awesome photos! Where are the containers actually loaded onto the flats?
  22. Blasphemy!!! Being serious, though, haven't all eighteen of them been heavily rebuilt over the last decade anyhow? If so, they're probably more akin to twenty year olds rather than fifty year olds.
  23. Christmas lights like this?
  24. And no Tin Vans!
