  1. Thank Crunchie it’s Friday… Cavalex Class 60 no. 60087 arrived from Rails of Sheffield today. Colour scheme even looks a bit like Crunchie. €65 handling fee to DHL, plus import taxes, so it had better not frikkin’ sound crunchy. But, it was my error clicking on DHL instead of Royal Mail, so my own fault. Absolutely beautiful model. Cavalex packaging is like Heljan’s O Gauge packaging, and is the best out there. My only irk with the packaging, as with Accurascale’s, is that it’s so wastefully over-sized. Maybe Cavalex are a smidge less wasteful than Accurascale, but this oversized packaging thing needs to stop. Won’t get to run 60087 for a while, but it is absolutely beautiful. It also feels quite sturdy, no bits floating around in the box, no bits falling off on handling. The pipework looks and feels moulded rather than loose, so no fear in touching the bogies when handling. Not getting the calipers out, not going through all of the RMWeb drama queen bull crap, you can read it here and here if you like, I’m just so happy with the look and feel of the model.
  2. Wow, @warb, just wow! Somebody’s leaned too heavily into the mushroom bit!
  3. And, a little birdy has just confirmed that mine is NOT one of the ones with the wrong loco in the box, so yaaaaaaaay!
  4. DC Shuttle units are very simple - I bought one from you a while back! Two solenoids soldered to the track at the end of the line, and the shuttle controller connected in between your main controller and the track. DCC are something quite different.
  5. I think the depot needs an easier to spell name!
  6. Same thing happened last night, @BosKonay fixed it this morning, but it’s no longer working now.
  7. Have you booked your ferry tickets, yet?
  8. That’ll do, that’ll do… Although, if somebody could sneak in at night and change the plans to SuperTrain, I wouldn’t complain. Or 071 / B134 style freight grey.
  9. On a Sunday. And on holidays. Say thank you, @Mol_PMB!
  10. 216 still in Belmond livery??? Prime candidate for an experimental SuperTrain livery so! Hint hint, @ttc0169…
  11. @Sean, do smaller drones have to follow the 1:1 horizontal distance : altitude rule? Mine’s an older 1400g C2 / A2 class, and I’m obliged to maintain a horizontal distance no less than the altitude above terrain.
  12. I was getting the shakes this morning with the forum offline. I’ve eaten several packets of peanuts and chewed my fingernails down to stubs. Image upload was broken last night so I assume it was related to fixing that. Thanks, @BosKonay!
  13. Found the Irish map: https://www.uaai.ie/airspace-map Lots of no-fly zones! Can’t upload a screenshot, image upload keeps failing, but I’m seeing a lot of red zones.
  14. Also acceptable, but you can never have too many buses.
  15. Genius? Didn’t you mean to say “That’s super, man”?
  16. Everybody’s favourite, Gostude, has a little Dapol Irish wagon for €97: https://www.ebay.es/itm/334716041371 And for €102: https://www.ebay.es/itm/365725504567 Probably a little exaggerated, since the unpainted Dapol A017 ones were around €10 new.
  17. I think it’s a question of getting what you pay for…
  18. Millipede / Gerry Hoey has a Mk3 DVT for sale on Adverts.ie. Wonder if @Ryan ever got one in the end…
  19. You should buy a few more buses and make a little street.
  20. Thanks, Mol_IRM…
  21. I’ll give you a hint, IRM style…
