  1. Bachmann Eucon 45' Container twinpack for £19: https://www.hattons.co.uk/1405664/bachmann_branchline_36_101_po14_2_x_45ft_intermodal_containers_in_eucon_livery_pre_owned_very_good_box/stockdetail
  2. Here's a photo of one of the UK Dodge C38's mentioned by @Blaine: In the comments underneath that photo on FlickR, there are several UK models listed. Click on the photo to see the comments. There's also the very similar Renault D38, which may be more likely to have made it to Ireland. Didn't @warb or somebody post photos of Renault Jacob's Biscuits trucks before? EDIT: Found the Jacob's photos I was thinking of. Newer Renaults. Boooo!
  3. My decoder is being "assessed" by Customs in Madrid today after arriving from Heathrow... So does that mean that they're assessing the parcel to bill me for the contents, or that they've steamed the glue open and are assessing the decoder itself in one of their own A Classes?
  4. Literally looks and sounds real! Lovely photos and videos!
  5. @Kirley's current YT channel: https://m.youtube.com/@kir7ley/videos His older YT channel: https://m.youtube.com/@kirley6852/videos Plenty of regular updates, the videos are a joy to watch.
  6. Double trouble! Two IXO cabs, a TR123.22 1994 Volvo FH12 and a TR135.22 1986 Renault R420, each with a butchered Edicola brand trailer! Unbranded eBay 1:48 containers... @Arran, we need 1:43 containers!
  7. So at a stretch, a UK operator may have sent something over on the ferry? Will do some digging.
  8. Ah crap. Seem to be a very Spanish thing, and seem very similar aesthetically to the Renault D38.
  9. What was the overall goal? To have shallower flanges for running on lower profile rail? With twelve wheels to practice turning down, one should have it down to a fine art for the next loco? Can the wheels be turned down without a lathe? Ie in a drill?
  10. I'll take one of those three sets of BSGV sides either way!
  11. Breakfast rolls, now there's a blast from the past, can't beat sausages! Yeah, the scale difference is more apparent with the 2,6m boxes, specially with the newer, taller cab, so I chose a 2,9m for the photo. The length isn't too noticeable, 12,2m is about 28cm in 1/43 and about 25cm in 1/48. It'll only become a problem when IRM release their 42' flats in O Gauge... I'll have to wait for 47' Flats to hide the 3cm difference in the gap!
  12. Which controller did you go for in the end, and what feedback would you have given, as a beginner?
  13. Watched this on YT this morning! Outstanding!
  14. Great to see the Volvo F88 in CIE / IR livery! Were there ever any 1981 Dodge C38's in Ireland? 1981, technically not seventies, but close enough. I have one or two cabs that have been retired, and am wondering what may become of them: https://cochesdemetal.es/1981-camion-dodge-c38t-trailer-leche-pascual-amarillo-blanco-azul-143-salvat-peg009
  15. Would these BSGV's be apt for running with IRM's Park Royals? I assume that a Park Royal rake will require some sort of heating van!
  16. Agree, it kind of stands out because the logo doesn't stand out as much as a large logo.
  17. Finally, an artic in 1:43! IXO Models IXOTR124 Mercedes Actros MP4 with a flatbed butchered from that Edicola brand Pascual trailer that I posted about previously. Stupid triangular screws are heart-breakers. Container is only 1/48, not 1/43, but it's the best I can do for the moment. Poor light, sorry, but it's late at night. Still, @JasonB and @MOGUL should like this one, even if the cab is a bit new.
  18. They are really nice models. Poor biro refill doing it's best. I'm sure that the real hydraulics were a lot more complex!
  19. Nice little bus! Picked this one up today myself, not perfect but good enough for me: https://www.ebay.es/itm/175818806485 P.S.: You need to brush up on your Spanish, I'm only being helpful.
  20. Some crazy and some OK. I picked up one or two of the original BritBus Dublin models for £40 each this morning.
  21. Brilliant, thank you so much, @Mayner and @leslie10646!
  22. Couple of bits and bobs on eBay. Murphy Models IR Livery 141 Class no. 143, 0 bids, €215 EUR, finishes in 7 hours: https://www.ebay.es/itm/256142763237 Seller of 143 says: "Postage will be to UK or Northern Ireland addresses only as I've read about the complexities of posting to Southern Ireland and being a private seller wouldn't know how it would be possible otherwise." Murphy Models silver and black 071 Class no. 082, 0 bids, €330, finishes in 5 hours: https://www.ebay.es/itm/256142625789 Same seller as 143, and says: "Also as I am a private seller, having read about the complexities of posting to Southern Ireland I can only send to UK or Northern Ireland addresses." Irish Railway Models B&I Container Liner twin pack, 0 bids, €105 or €145 "Buy It Now", ends in six days: https://www.ebay.es/itm/115867132592 (Seller is Ian McNally of MIR, can reccommend myself) Irish Railway Models empty Container Liner triple pack, 3 bids, €120, finishes in 3 days: https://www.ebay.es/itm/115864291177 (This is the item that @Fowler4f created a separate eBay thread for) More a curiosity than a bargain, Irish Railway Models A Class no. 007s, €405, not on auction: https://www.ebay.es/itm/305035325005 (@Fowler4f has created a separate eBay thread for this item also) Again a curiosity rather than a bargain, a Lima Mk2D Galway livery triple pack, purchased on Adverts.ie recently for €195, I think, €290, not on auction: https://www.ebay.es/itm/126015556851 (Seller says "EX SHOP STOCK YOU WILL NOT FIND IN THIS CONDITION VERY OFTEN HENCE THE PRICE" but I'd be dubious) Silver Fox Dutch Van, this one must be in demand by somebody here on the forum, unpainted, €80, not on auction: https://www.ebay.es/itm/204334945988 The seller IS Silver fox, and the kit is listed on their wesite at £47,50 GBP: http://silverfoxmodels.co.uk/ir-ie-generating-steam-van-dutch/ The eBay one appears to have been assembled and had wheels added, so removes a lot of hassle. Murphy Models Cravens coach no. 1523, 5 bids, €55, 8 days left: https://www.ebay.es/itm/225680074988 Dapol Irish 5 plank open wagon triple pack, €100, not on auction, seller has Irish stuff from time to time: https://www.ebay.es/itm/266341836247 BritBus special commisson by adrian Richards, Molly 2 Ghost Bus, 4 bids, €35, ends in 2 hours: https://www.ebay.es/itm/354920789308 This seller has four BritBus Dublin models, slightly expensive (2 @ €110 and 2 x @ €90), and looks like they don't ship internationally as you have to change the url to ".co.uk" to actually see the buses: https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_dkr=1&iconV2Request=true&_blrs=recall_filtering&_ssn=andrewclarkmodels2&store_name=andrewclarkmodels2&_oac=1&_nkw=dublin
  23. Leslie, I would bet my kidneys that at €15 per van RTR, your only problem would be people complaining that they sold out too quickly. You'd have people buying them in tens and twenties, not just ones and twos.
  24. What do the differences between the four variants imply? Did all four variants run concurrently or did each one replace an earlier one? Or were there two and two? The website says: "GSR / CIE Class 101 (J15) with 'Z' Boiler 0-6-0 Type B-(Low) Tender Nº146 - Grey with Logo £315.00 + P&P Taking Orders Type B-(Low) Tender Nº125 - Grey with Logo £315.00 + P&P Taking Orders Type C-(High) Tender Nº186 - Grey with Black Smokebox £315.00 + P&P Taking Orders Type C-(High) Tender Nº179 - Grey with Black Smokebox £315.00 + P&P Taking Orders All above locomotives available in black." https://www.ooworks.co.uk/products
  25. Greenlight 1983 GMC Vandura A-Team van... Very obvious that this van inspired Dublin Bus for generations to come!
