Hattons flash sale - Dapol Class 59

I saw that both Hatton's and Rails of Sheffield put the Dapol Class 59's on offer yesterday. Something wrong with them or just coincidence? -
Accurascale's First O Gauge Locomotive???
DJ Dangerous replied to DJ Dangerous's topic in British Outline Modelling
Obviously I'm hoping for an O gauge IRM A Class after the first one or two loco launches prove so popular and sell out on pre-order... Without going too nutty, something to haul these HUO's would be nice. -
Following on from THIS quote on RMW, is anybody else excited for the first O gauge Accurascale locomotive?
Hi everyone, Excellent to see that there is interest in us doing more O gauge. So much so, we want to let you into a little secret... We can confirm that we have designed our first O gauge locomotive and it is going to tooling in the coming weeks. It is not a locomotive currently in our OO range, so it is O gauge from the ground up. Feel free to wildy speculate on what it might be! We will reveal it when tooling is complete and a pre-production sample is in hand later this year. Cheers! Fran
Deltic Arrival Update - May 2022
DJ Dangerous replied to Warbonnet's topic in British Outline Modelling
The Purple Monster arrived today, yaaaayyyyyy! Amazing detail. It looks like an O Gauge loco, the detail is so fine. Bag of tiny coloured bits, no idea what they are, and a bag of nameplates. One tiny thing loose in the box, only a few mm long, so will figure that out another day. Loads of headcodes, plus a guide on headcodes, and some booklets. Outstanding looking loco. I'm too burned out to be trying any running, but this is just gorgeous. P.S.: I thought that there was another newer Deltic thread but nothing shows up when I search for threads with "Deltic" in the title, so apologies if this is in the wrong place. -
I've never seen the Base Toys UlsterBus Tours one before. Is it prototypical or imaginary? I'm interested either way!

@johnfromoz just sent me the link to this video. Some lovely shots. Video descripton says: "Scenes filmed on the Loughrea Branch by Tony Price capturing the last scheduled mixed train (passenger & freight combined) in Ireland. Filmed from the early 1970s to shortly before closure in 1975. Film donated by Tony to the Dawson family."

Rails of Sheffield have Legacy Models OO gauge Bullhead track (12 x 970mm) reduced from £70 GBP to £45GBP: https://railsofsheffield.com/products/pack-of-12-wooden-sleeper-bullhead-track-970mm Looks like only DCC Concepts' fishplates are compatible.

I'm hoping for an O Gauge IRM A Class instead. Please, Santa, I'll be good. I mean, the design work is done, the trouble-shooting is done, the rate of sales per livery has been calculated, so just lash out four liveries with some transfers for numbering, day-glow panels, ST/IR hybrids etc. IR livery, ST livery, un-rebuilt BT livery and that delightful lined green. €600 a pop, DCC ready, no speaker included, and happy days!

Temporary problems with Accurascale shipping here, most likely due to that Royal Mail cyber mess a few months ago, so I was unable to make use of the offer. However, I couldn't resist buying one from Hatton's at full price in order to see it with my own eyes, and it just arrived a few minutes ago. Wow, what a wagon! The detail is out of this world. Not knocking OO Gauge models in any way, but O gauge offers a bigger canvas and Accurascale have made the most of it. Nice weight to the wagon, too. I don't know anything about O Gauge couplings but I assume that these couplings are a kind of industry standard. Stunning wagon, and the size, it just looks so massive alongside a OO wagon!

Might have even run a tiny bit later according to this post: It's not a claim, just a suggestion, but certainly possible.

Love it! Thank Crunchie it's Friday. Your lighting is fabulous. I'm only now noticing the embankment that's kind of hidden in most shots. Maybe an upside-down selfie stick would allow you film the layout from the opposite side? Never used one before myself so not sure if it would actually work.

Yeah, it's a bit far-fetched of me but both Cravens' and a Mk1 GSV are likely at some stage, so why the Hell not? If there were 750 packs produced, it would guarantee both manufacturers an additional sales boost due to the cross merchandising. -
Just for reference, @Weshty's Bandon tank and other locos can be ordered here: http://www.studio-scale-models.com/Locos.shtml The SSM email bounces everything back but he does attend to the other email address listed.

Nearly sure that it was mentioned here before that it was the late nineties or early two thousands before the whole fleet had transitioned from blue to red. I am open to correction on that.

Don't mess with the Navy. Unless you're a Polar Bear. Then you can mess with Navy.
