  1. Fully agree on the nostalgia. I long to see what I remember from my childhood, only remembering the good, not the bad. Still, the last decade or two, the closest I get to rail travel is the Tranvia / tram up in Santa Cruz, so you guys don't know how lucky you are with your grey 071's, your 22000's and your RPSI specials!
  2. €690, so the real question is original livery or post-2013 livery? May be time for @BosKonay to merge this thread with the other 22000 thread!
  3. You mean @murphaph better get his soldering iron packed and book his flights!
  4. How about a six-car set with four extra speakers???
  5. I received the same email, explaining the confusion. Great idea with the online version. My hard copy arrived late last week, but I'm a bit further south than Newry...
  6. Classic background tune when he unveils the Class 50!
  7. Retro Models' (AKA author and bus expert Ed O'Neill)'s Bus Eireann DAF VDL Futura 2 LC300 in 1/87 scale is available to pre-order here: https://www.irishretro.com/new-products-2/bus-ireann-model-lc300-type May be a bit modern for some folk, but with IRM's 22000's probably only a year away, this would be a nice model to squeeze in somewhere. According to the Irish Retro website: "The model will feature LC304 on the 132 Tullow route, however extra decals will be provided for you to apply should you prefer to show 109 An Uaimh (LC305) ; 101 Drogheda (LC322); 239 Corcaigh (LC316); 160 Newry (LC303). The advance order price is €85.00 + p&p."
  8. This has just been re-listed as it didn't sell first time around. Completed Jim Poots Wright Crusader kit. Currently showing at approx. €60. Paint finish isn't to my taste but it might suit somebody here: https://www.ebay.es/itm/115855445127
  9. Excellent idea using the template - reminds me of this post on the wonderful Borris Railway thread.
  10. That is awesome! Thank you for finding and sharing. Sounds like a fleet of locos starting all at once. I've ordered IRM's non-sound 22000's but will have to consider a few sound ones after that. Don't mind the moaners here, that was absolutely fabulous!
  11. Either way, it's awesome to see people actually making stuff! Fair play!
  12. Same! Was convinced that I had some 20' CMA-CGM boxes but nope!
  13. Absolutely savage! Still struggling to imagine the size. Have one or two 1:18 cars and they are huge, yet would be dwarfed by that Volvo. All you need is a trailer from Road Kings and you're sorted.
  14. What's the process for cutting out the windows? Do you repeatedly score the same lines with a blade until you slice through?
  15. He has 40' CMA-CGM highcubes listed: https://shop.c-rail-intermodal.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=152&search=cma
  16. Lovely stuff! I missed out on them, and will wait for @Arran's next batch rather than buying the Hornby ones. Have you seen the spare lugs for the flats? Very handy! https://irishrailwaymodels.com/collections/accessories/products/cie-ir-42-flat-container-mounting-lugs-20ft-container
  17. Keep us posted on those two, please, @Arran! Sorry to hijack the thread, @Rob, but it was way overdue a video and a few photos anyhow.
  18. WIT'S brand Starlet Turbo. Not as much a fan of this casting as the DISM and Norev models, particularly the rear clusters, but they knocked it out of the park with the interior!
  19. Those "Edicola" brand Pegaso 1236 cabs up close and personal:
  20. Would I be correct in saying that @Arran doesn't do 20' MSC or CMA-CGM containers? Only Hornby do the MSC and only Dapol do the CMA-CGM? Or where did you get yours???
  21. Looks lovely in the "new" DB livery! Took me a while to get used to the new one after the Jacobs orange on them.
  22. Out of the boxes? Out of the boxes??? Are you insane? They live in their boxes, and then those boxes go into other boxes to protect the boxes!
  23. Santa Claus?
