  1. Have to agree, I miss them off the mainline dearly.
  2. When you want information sometimes you have to be prepared to dig a little.
  3. It would be nailed on soundwise for an EMD 645 non turbo motor, I have one in a switcher and it sounds fabulous. However as you state the horn would be off and I always thought that A's sounded slightly different to other 645 non turbos due to the different silencing (or lack of!) arrangements and a different generator than normal EMD locos.
  4. They also cannot be reprogrammed with another engine sound unlike ESU/Zimo.
  5. Good to see you Eoin and had a grand auld chat. It's a great model to see in the plastic, cant wait to see the finished article!
  6. Glasgow is a great town for going out on the rip too. If anyone was also interested in such things...
  7. Sticky fingers! Shape wise I still reckon it's better than silver fox; well one that isn't sticky!
  8. That's enough Ed, let's leave it there. We may revisit this topic in the coming weeks regarding a vote. If people want to take this data on further you can contact mods via PM.
  9. It's something we may consider doing in the coming weeks. However, people did post their preferences in this thread it's apparent what would be popular choices for models if someone was to bite the bullet and take things further.

It sure is! Geoff's passing was very sad. Talked to him a couple of times, he was a top bloke. It's a great range of products.
  11. These kind of tutorials are great Eoin, sharing skills and empowering others. Great stuff!
  12. This was just meant to be a straw pole to see amongst us would be willing to prepay to fund a model if such an idea was suggested and what models would be of interest. The data is free for people to take on to the next level themselves if they so choose, which would include wider marketing and investigation.
  13. Well done Mark and team!
  14. There's some echo in here....
  15. I've heard different from a source close to the great man. Just goes to show we shouldn't take notice of Chinese whispers and wait for the man to speak for himself.
  16. You're more than welcome to ask questions and learn but I fail to see how BosKonay offended you. There was no need to get smart about it. I think you've received good advice on your query and it was you after all who brought up the Model Shop Belfast piece in the first place. We'll leave the thread there.
  17. I fail to see how he did.
  18. He doesn't own the shop.
  19. I read elsewhere that he was an inexperienced driver who was indeed killed. Just goes to show you that you should always take care around them.
  20. Lovely job Tom. The patience was well worth it!
  21. Have to say the detail that will be on this will be something else. Apparently this interior will be painted in the correct prototype colours. S1730028 by Shane Wilton, on Flickr
  22. It looks stunning! Cant wait for this!
  23. He is aware of the thread. I also think that the 121 will happen once existing stock is sold, so the crowdfunding deal may not be of interest to him. I think his most recent releases demonstrates his belief in NIR. That's a bit of a silly, unfair and unproductive statement to be honest.
  24. I'm not a huge fan of sound for the most part but his sounds are the most convincing UK outline sounds I've heard so far. Great news.
