  1. Get Des to stick the commission cheque in the post!
  2. Hi guys, As the title suggests I'm after Great Northern Irish Railway Pictorial by Tom Ferris. If anyone can help send me a PM! Thanks!
  3. Great stuff, thanks for sharing Ivan!
  4. Got a quick look at the Sandite Unit at York Road yesterday. It actually looks quite well in yellow in the flesh. I quite like it! Anyone going to model it?
  5. Superb find Eamonn. Duly followed on Flickr!
  6. Photos of anything interesting please!
  7. This popped up on my subscriptions page today. All those freights, wagon variety, A Classes, TPOs! Them were the days. Eiretrains - I salute you!
  8. Only comes with a circle of track? Odd on a set with that much stock I would've thought?
  9. No problem mate. If you were ever in Dublin you could drop it into Marks Models on Hawkins st and Jim would have a look at it for you.
  10. You could buy spares from a Hornby 50 and transplant them into the Lima 50 underframe (including bogie spares) if you want a central can set up. This might prove a useful guide (okay it's a 31, but the concept would be the same. http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/19369-brush-type-2-re-birth-judgement-day/ Alternatively the units we discussed recently would work in a Lima 50. What's gone wrong with it? Is it the motor itself? Did you clean the wheels and pick-ups? Are the gears damaged? Loose wires/connection? http://irishrailwaymodeller.com/showthread.php/2800-Cost-effective-remotor-options-for-the-Lima-201?highlight=lima
  11. Looks great Tom, exciting times!
  12. The profile is a lot different. It would look better if you used plastic sheeting and a lot of filler or even cut an MIR body up.
  13. Not just me, the three complaints the mod team received about your use of excessive capital letters. Let's not play silly beggars. We're all adults at the end of the day
  14. It really benefits locos that have a real base rumble in real life. For instance, I've heard a Deltic and a Class 56 with bass reflex and it puts them on a whole other level. I think the one loco here that would really benefit from them would be the 071s. The 201s are much quieter and the big silencer seems to take the bass out of the sound.
  15. Cheers Dave. Never been to Giggleswick myself it has to be said.
  16. You've been warned about caps lock before. Type in lower case and only use caps where appropriate please Mr. Roche.
  17. Who commissioned those sets Dave? Were they pre Murphy?
  18. Believe it or not dummies cost nearly the same to make as powered units. British manufacturers looked at it before and felt there was no economic case. I know I would personally want all locos powered for extra pulling power.
  19. Great video. NBLs diesel output interests me more than the steam angle but it's great to see such a large operation in action! A similar one of Inchicore in its prime would be fantastic. Thanks for sharing!
  20. Are you sure they're not being caused by trees? Either way the defenders will help limit damage going forward.
  21. Non members can drop into the Dublin set up from time to time, might be the same for London? I'm sure they'd have plenty of drawings etc you'd be interested in
  22. 'And henceforth the Irish Railway Modeller community began their lobbying of IE to engage in a heritage repaint programme of their otherwise dull trains into interesting paint schemes of the past similar to Norfolk Southern...' Or something.
  23. they tend to grow back? I dont see the problem with having both, the defenders as a 'last resort' as going by the number of damaged roof domes to be seen on the Dublin Bus fleet the tree choppers can't always keep up .
  24. Have a look at a 201 and 071, they aint evenly spaced either!
