Very nice George! You need to get to a scrapyard in Portarlington to buy a 1:1 kit.... http://irishrailwaymodeller.com/showthread.php/2382-Models/page2
Jeez Northman they were great prices. Well done on getting them!
A lot of Gresley's locos were named after famous race horses and Galtee More is no exception. Then there is the Galtymore mountain in Tip. I liked the name as there was a famous Irish dancehall in Cricklewood in North London called the Galtee More. Famous amongst the Irish in London for many generations until it closed a few years ago. I did have a bit of a mad night or two in it when I lived there.
Have the Duke and their P2 on order. Two of my all time favourite steam locos. Can't wait for them
A pic of my Galtee More with smoke defelctors and GN coal rail tender. An absolute bargain of only €99.00 from Seamus Grahams. Great value!
Nice choice Nortman, have the same Apple Green 4472 as you do as well as 'Galtee More' in BR Green. Excellent runners. Is the Black one a National Railway Museum limited edition?
Ah the youknowwho attempts its swim upstream it seems. I wonder how many IDs he's registered on RMWeb... This is still the place to be guys, we're not going anywhere for a long time yet
Has to be either late 60s/early 70s black and tan for me and IR/IE transitions in the early to mid 90s before the A's went and they started painting 201s sill colours. As I said before my kingdom for a pukka A and C class and some proper 4 wheeled vans and opens from the period. Looks like Leslie is coming through with the open soon!
Hell yes! Check out the yankee forum and some of my youtube videos and feel free to ask any questions!
Hi and welcome to the site. Sorry to hear about you having to sell off stock. They seem like reasonable prices to me.
You never know, a few on here model British too, myself included. No harm sticking it up.
Kentish Town West to Gunnersbury was my trek. Always enjoying travelling over Willsden Junction and the back of Old Oak Common seeing abandoned Fertis 56s around the turntable. 313s provided traction there and in my previous residence from New Southgate to Finsbury Park and Kings Cross at weekends. Hated them travel wise but if a model of one came out I'd buy one for nostalgic sakes. Now replaced on the North London Line by the Capitalstars.
