  1. Stick to the Jouef landfill so.
  2. For the first time an EMD SDP45 will be made in plastic. The SDP45 was a passenger version of the SD45. Must say I'm delighted, I want an SP one but the EL one looks fab. Will look great in Conrail too when they get around to it. Know most of you wont care, but I have something to look forward to!
  3. It looked superb, didn't make a great deal of fuss leaving with that heavy load so looks like they did a thorough job on her. I like the grey, something very 70s Southern Pacific SD40T-2 about them. Just needed another few locos coupled up for a nice lash-up!
  4. Nice one Tom. Have finished editing my video from Clondalkin/Fonthill and Kildare but wont get to upload it till tomorrow. In the meantime here's a pic. It was a great day to be lineside!
  5. I hope it's this but you never know! So if it's to be a special edition 071, which will it be?
  6. Interesting! Do we get our hopes up now for something major only to be disappointed or do we go down the road of cautious optimism? Maybe Marks can give us a clue? Could be a fun game!
  7. Have her at Kildare running around. Will upload later and check your video out. She looked pristine!
  8. I thought I had 5 pints when I saw that pic!
  9. The local shops will get the business if they stocked the paints, like Phoenix Precision and Railmatch. Marks has the Irish colours of Phoenix Precision but cannot get any more until Warley in November. BR colours are suddenly impossible to get!
  10. Crash repair? Fire/bomb damage? Looks to be be two coaches made into one. It was formerly a BR Mark II BFK (14111) I believe. This meant it started life as pressure vent, not aircon. Apparently converted by NIR from Brake Standard Generator Van to Brake Executive Generator Van in 1989. Maybe that's when it became the oddball in the video?
  11. So was there only aircon on one side of the coach?! That's crazy. Lima did ventilated and air con Mark 2s and Bachmann have Air Con Mark 2's coming out soon to go with their vent stock. Parts should be interchangeable amongst their own products. I have never seen a Mark 2 with that arrangement in the UK or here before.
  12. Wonder if this will make my Modelzone limited editions even more valuable? They did some nice ones over the years...
  13. Quality!
  14. Very nice, pity it wasnt the Sulzer pulling in! Is there any sound recordings of any of the Irish sulzers knocking around?
  15. Cheers lads, I was like a burns victim after it. Need to go back and cop me some liners as railcar after railcar is very boring. Just need to find out the times and I'll be sorted!
  16. Nice shots man. I know how you feel. I stood in the local station for a couple of hours on Thursday and it was railcars all the way. I was thinking about how not so long ago all those intercity services were loco hauled and from an enthusiast point of view it was much more interesting. It's a bummer for us but to be fair the ICRs are nice to travel on and progress is progress.
  17. Agreed, miss watching them practice formations from the school classroom and summer afternoons. The only thing I do miss from school!
  18. Had a couple of hours to kill so visited the local station to see what was chugging through Clondalkin. Sadly had to leave before any liners appear but if ICRs and 201s do it for you you might enjoy them in their full HD splendour. Think I'll just head out for specials or new freight from now on!
  19. Got a couple of pics of her today at Heuston. Lovely little loco with some great literature about her home railway beside her.The only downsides was that it's a bit out of sight to see (Though I suppose it's the only real place they could put her) and the tender was filled with empty cardboard boxes and rubbish which is a bit unprofessional!
  20. Superb!
  21. Sure can. Might want to talk to Brendan about that...
  22. Grand auld yokes. Have a bachmann one with sound as well as the prototype NRM one. Had a good look around one at the NRM and I couldnt get over how thin to bodywork is compared to say a class 40. They were real lightweight machines for their power and size. Proper greyhounds.
  23. Thanks, I'm not going mad then!
  24. I know I was having a downer on sound a few weeks back but that does sound fantastic! Sounds better than the Murphys sound I heard. Are they two different chips?
