I like the livery itself, much better than that rotten old commuter livery. The yellow front could've been better but overall it's okay. It highlights at how little glass there is on the sides of these units though; a few small windows down the side. Don't strike me as particularly bright and airy. Also agree about the modern British liveries, apart from GNER there were very little if any I liked. Virgin is okay but not much after that. The freight company liveries tend to be much better.

Yep, I thought Southern when I saw the curved dark green along the windows too. Not sure what model you could use to hammer a 29000 into?

These are the babies being used in the UK on the Drax Biomass flow https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nOJuvkzijLA As far as I know the biomass needs to be kept dry. While I'd love to see nice big hoppers on dedicated trains I'm guessing it'll be a few containers with a rag thrown over it.

Ally Pally used to be my local show (literally, could walk to it from Muswell Hill), good to hear it's still going strong and is enjoyable as ever. Must go back one year for old times sake. A much better venue than Warley in my opinion!

The sad thing is that a 'one size fits all' product is not going to satisfy everybody. Some would rather something crude for buttons, others (like myself admittedly) would rather something true to prototype as much as possible and would be prepared to pay the extra for it. However, can the market sustain two products and a halving of the target audience? It's an interesting conundrum.

Murphys don't seem to want to do a model which has been released RTR by another provider. Silver Fox did a tarted up BR craven unit in Irish liveries. One to the standards of Murphy stock would be fantastic. Then again he'd probably have to do a C class to go with it...

A good scale model of the AECs would be superb. A lot of possibilities with hauled stock as well as motorised, liveries, possible GNR version too.... Pretty essential rolling stock for the period.

Well after much resisiting I succumbed to picking one of these locos up. Sound, shipped to Ireland and taxes paid it worked out slightly less than a 201. It was too good a deal to turn down and a chance to see how MTH stacks up. Looking forward to giving her a run and see how she sounds
