I understand, just reinforcing your point. When I lived there I travelled up to York to see it. Pissed all over the then recently revamped London Transport Museum in Covent Garden. Never did get into Acton mind you, even when working but a stones throw away from the depot. Would've been much more interesting I bet.

Suethe units are not that big as far as I remember, sit down into the funnel. You can see them here (Around 8:52 onwards) [video=youtube_share;K0G-vDMf9tI] They dont do it for me, just don't look realistic and dirty the track. But whatever floats your boat!

They arent scale length by any stretch but if you don't mind that then fire away!

They would need the buffers at each end. The doors are different too but it's only a slight change. The current Hornby or old Lima and Jouef coaches can be used.

Welcome to the site Liverbird. Guessing you're an LFC fan? Good man! MIR did a conversion kit for the Class 80 railcars which involved a Lima Class 73 power bogie and some Mark IIs. As MIR are no longer producing kits these could be hard to come by. Anthony might be along and he could give you a better idea on possible availability.

It wasnt when they ramped them up 18 months ago. They were nearly 3 times the price of Hattons. The big RM increase was more recently I believe. -

Bought some 2nd hand stuff off Modelfair in the past and the service is very good. Stuff sold as described. Mind you their postage rates have gone right up over the past 18 months. -
That sounds cool Dave. I picked up some Marklin track and stock a while ago with the intention of collecting a piece or two a year. I blame Steven for that! As you said they're pricey, but are impressive and Marklin has a certain charm.

Amen, I love the control options DCC gives, and could never go back to analogue. I really thought I'd be in the minority on this one, but it seems a lot of people prefer the clickity clack of wheels over DCC sound. I can understand the appeal of DCC sound and why people enjoy it, I guess we're all different really. I feel better switching my latest SD70 order from sound fitted to DCC ready. Saved a packet too!
