  1. Just to let you lads know, we're at the 40% presold mark on the ploughs and it's pretty neck and neck in the order books. Looks like they're not going to hang around too long!
  2. More info on this:
  3. Hi everyone, We have just launched a brand new Irish Railway Models website! To make our website even more user friendly and accessible, we have carried out an extensive redesign. Now, shopping with us online is very simple, while all the latest news is nice and accessible! With all the latest models coming down the line in the near future, it's now easier than ever to keep abreast of all the latest news. We also have included 'Live Chat', so we can answer any of your queries in double quick time! You can also track all your orders placed with us in your online account, including models you buy from us at shows! Due to the latest online regulations, we now need you to reactivate your account. You can do this by simply clicking on the link we have just emailed you and following the quick instructions. YOUR ACCOUNT WILL NOT WORK UNLESS YOU REACTIVATE IT! Please check your spam folder if you cannot find the email. If you have any queries or difficulties, please do not hesitate to contact us via email at info@irishrailwaymodels.com Cheers! Fran
  4. Managed to catch Merlin today now I'm back from the other side of the water. She powered through West Dublin on her way to Connolly for the trip back north. Merlin at Clondalkin Fonthill by franburke, on Flickr
  5. Good spot, it's a typo on our part. Still August!
  6. Hi Mmie, Yes, we have upgraded the site to make navigation even easier, while it also plugs into a slick stock control system for us, so no more finding sold out bubbles down the back of the sofa! We will be sending out an email later this morning which allows you (and everyone else) to reactivate their accounts. cheers, Fran
  7. It was a tough one, but we managed to smuggle him out of the country on some Accura business....
  8. What's better than an orange bubble? An orange bubble weathered by Richie.... A gentle dusting really makes these the nicest of all the cement bubbles if you ask me. Really makes the detail pop out! Still in stock, but who knows for how much longer? https://irishrailwaymodels.com/product-category/freight-stock/cement-bubbles/
  9. Stunning, love the street signs (as well as our bubbles rolling through such a great layout!)
  10. Thanks for the support Tony, we appreciate it as every sale helps us. re doing GNRI wagons. Do you think we’d sell 12,000-15,000 units of say, a GNRI open wagon in the UK? I thought it was a pretty niche part of a niche market tbh, but I could be wrong.
  11. Hi Tony, simply becuase the market is much smaller and we wouldn’t sell them. It’s a catch 22 I’m afraid. How many cement bubbles do people need for instance? thanks, Fran
  12. Exactly correct! We are making three times the amount of Accurascale wagons as IRM wagons and we can spread the tooling cost across their price compared to IRM. Simple as. It’s the same reason MM locos cost more than Bachmann etc.
  13. Our Technicial Director weathered an orange bubble up today on his coffee break and it needs to be seen to be believed. They weather real welll if I do say so. Will snap it on Tuesday as Accurascale excitement took over today.
  14. They’re being made by C-Rail as stated previously, so it’s up to them. All I know is that the containers made for our liners, both B&I and Bell, will have unique numbers just for our wagon packs. C-Rail May release additional containers in these liveries but they will have different identification numbers. The Bell containers will also be an earlier pattern of container which has yet to be done by C-Rail and was longer lived in Bell livery.
  15. I believe that this is the last weedspraying season for the traditional weedsprayer and an MPV takes over. We are working with C-Rail to do a run of B&I containers for our liner wagons which we announced previously. C-Rail are providing Bells for our flats too.
  16. Thanks for the feedback everyone! We can see that these will make a nice additional item for the catalogue! I can see us proceeding with this plan. We will give you an update when it get closer to their place in the production queue.
  17. Sadly such undecorated models dont sell well Robert, but each container we do per pack will have a different identity, and they will be different to the containers on the weedspray and on the flats, so lots of unique numbers. Cheers, Fran
  18. Our progress on 'project 42' continues apace, with CAD currently working through our Weedsprayer pack. One element required for the weedsprayer is the humble CIE 20ft container. These were once a common sight across the country, on the back of CIE trucks, in freight yards and of course on CIE liner trains. We will also be offering these on 42ft flats for liner trains and we may sell them separately. Should we sell them separately? Comment below and let us know!
  19. I have in the past and know the owner well. Very good to deal with. They do the Dublin and Bangor shows here too. Oh, and welcome to the forum!
  20. Very nice Steven, good to see you at Bangor!
  21. Hi Jan, Welcome to the forum! I like your thinking on round towers, my home town, Clondalkin has a particularly well preserved one with a new visitors centre. http://www.megalithicireland.com/Clondalkin Round Tower.html Nice to see Irish modelling taking place throughout Europe! Fran
  22. Yeah they're all the same, earlier ones had 8pin, newer ones have 21 pin, but that's the only difference. Much better than the hornby chassis for smooth running and pulling power.
  23. Our Tara running through Kildare behind celebrity supertrain 071 on the wagon transfer to Limerick. Must be going for a repaint.... (Thanks to SDMRC for giving it a spin!)
  24. We’ve just Unloaded the van after a very busy two days at the great Bangor show. Thank you to everyone who made purchases, preorders and stopped by to say hello! We saw some familiar faces and made some new friends too. A big thank you to Derek Carter and the NDMRS for looking after us so well. Roll on next year!
  25. Just back from the Bangor show and several people over the weekend were singing the praises of this layout at the IRM stand. I love the setting, big fan of urban layouts and this nails the location! Excellent stuff.
