What a year it has been! 2017 saw us successfully bring the first quality ready-to-run Irish outline model wagon to market which received high praise and we quickly followed it with another! We would like to sincerely thank all our customers and supporters for an amazing 2017! It wouldn’t have been possible without you. We’re looking forward to 2018 and four (yes, four!) newly tooled Irish models at least coming down the line! Happy new year from all the Irish Railway Models team!

It’s pretty much the above but with a lot more swearing!

Awh shucks, cheers men! I’m sadly now 21 + a bit of VAT but being the youngest of the IRM team is something I can cling to! Thanks for the well wishes and I hope you all have a peaceful and happy new year!
-
I’m sure Wrenneire I’ll blow my ‘under the tree’ effort out of the water but I must say it’s pretty cool to have Models you are (somewhat!) responsible for under the tree after the childhood years of getting Hornby trainsets from Santa! Thank you to everyone for their support, well wishes, and custom! Have a great Christmas, peaceful new year and here’s to an exciting 2018 with at least three newly tooled IRM projects on the way throughout the year!

The first magazine review of the bubbles has been published in the January edition of Rail Express magazine, somewhat renowned for being tough to impress. Pick one up to see how we did!

Thanks everyone! I ventured over to the South Dublin Model Railway Club last night to drop off some orders. I was greeted with mince pies and a warm welcome. Thanks to Paul, Joe and everyone for the warm welcome and chat! I think everyone was delighted to see them arrive for Christmas!
-
Probably best to say it to them yourself George but we will say it to them too. Thanks for the order!
-
Loving this thread as always, Steven! I threw down a bit of Marklin on our new baseboards in IRMTowers recently. Don't think the rest of the IRM team were overly impressed!
-
Thanks for the orders as always, men! We hope you enjoy them.

Anyway, back to the orange bubbles. Look what turned up bright and early this morning (and I don't mean Patrick!) We are currently ploughing through quality control and packing with the first lot of shipments leaving very shortly with our courier! We are also delighted to say that half the orange run is now sold, which is amazing as we only announced them less than two months ago! Remember, if you would like to get your hands on them before Christmas, we thoroughly recommend you place your order before lunchtime tomorrow (Wednesday, December 20th) if you wish to avail of courier service to Ireland and the UK.
-
If there's enough demand for it, we will do them. It probably will depend on how quick the orange bubbles go, as they would be a lot more popular one would have thought.

Hi Noel, many thanks for the feedback. Your comments on the colour being ‘toy like’ is interesting. I understand these things can be personal preference, but we believe in accuracy, and having doing painstaking research and talked to the people ‘in the know’ who were most kind to provide us with pictorial evidence, this is the colour that the prototype carried. I think the fine printing and the serious hours of research and design that has gone into getting all the marking legible and correct also make it stand out, and personally think it would be a shame to lose it under weathering. After all, they stayed fairly clean compared to subsequent liveries. But that’s just me.

Hi everyone, If you're looking to place and order for ballast or bubble wagons and want them in time for Christmas, you will need to place an order before lunchtime, Wednesday December 20th for the UK and Ireland. If you want to place an order and collect it from us at IRM Towers, you can do so up until 1pm on Friday, December 22nd. We will then reopen on Tuesday, January 2nd. Thanks! Fran

As you can see above, our orange bubbles are going through their final checks at our factory in China before taking to the skies. We have a huge amount of pre-orders to get through but we will do everything we can to get them to our Irish and British customers before Christmas. If you would like to order wagons (including the orange bubbles) and receive them before Christmas we strongly advise you to place your orders ASAP so we can get them to you before Santa arrives!www.irishrailwaymodels.com/shop It's going to be very busy in IRM towers before the Christmas break!
-
Go for it Brassnut, no rules against that!
-
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, and with trains always an integral part of Santa's delivery list, we decided to go all out and decorate IRM Towers to make the occasion. Yep, that'll do grand.

Almost 500 replies since Friday evening Rich, which demonstrates the size of the market compared to home! Some great suggestions, some crazy ones and the odd one that would leave you scratching your head. Overall it's always a worthwhile exercise to do and will be a great help to us!

Hi everyone, We have put together a short, basic survey which should soak up any forum froth and give you a chance to lobby your case on what you would like from Accurascale. So if you're into British outline, give it a go! Complete our survey and you will be in with a chance of winning one of our first models as a prize! https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/accurscale-survey Thanks, Fran

You can credit Richie with the knowledge Rich. He’s delved deep into research to be as thorough as possible. I think he enjoys it really though!

Well spotted Railer, on the orange bubbles the numbering on the walkway bore no relation to their running number unlike the ivory bubbles, something to do with differentiating between route usage and/or axle boxes so the above is correct.
-
Correct Railer, vacuum braked. Thanks everyone, have to say I do love the orange bubbles, they really pop out the details. I will be in the MRSI clubrooms with them this Friday if any member wants a closer look. We are still on course to get them to you before Christmas, but if you want them before Santa starts doing his delivery we would advise getting your orders in now so we can get prepared and shipped in time!
-
We've just been gazing at our pre-production samples of the orange bubbles at IRM Towers, and we're getting very giddy indeed! We're delighted on how they turned out, and some of the fine tampo printing in particular is testament the skilled souls in our factory. These are due to be with us next week and we will be working tirelessly to get them to everyone before Christmas! Have you ordered yours yet? www.irishrailwaymodels.com/shop

I'm a big fan of GT3 too George but it looks like the rest of the gang wont go for it! Would love to see your kit when it's finished!

Hi everyone, As mentioned elsewhere, Irish Railway Models are venturing into the UK market in 2018 under our new brand, Accurascale. This will see us do British outline models in OO scale across a variety of eras and subjects. During our last customer survey it was indicated that a huge percentage of Irish railway modellers also model UK outline so Accurascale is sure to be of interest to you. Don't worry though, we will still be bringing out lots of Irish outline models in the coming years, including three, or maybe even four new models in 2018 alone for the Irish market. Accurascale models will be realises which have no impact on the amount of Irish models we will be doing with IRM. Anyway, our first release will be in February 2018 and is currently in the tooling room. We have just put our Facebook page live, so if you could give it a like we would really appreciate it too! https://www.facebook.com/AccurascaleUK/ We're also sure you've seen the video of us talking to Andy York of British Railway Modelling magazine and of course, RMWeb. But for those of you who haven't, here it is below. Cheers!
