  1. We like setting our factory challenges and push standards ever further. One challenge was to have a printed gauge on the discharge equipment on the bubbles. As you can see, they have come up trumps! Here is the plumbing before the separately applied handles are applied. This time next week you could have the fully finished article in your hands at the South Dublin Model Railway Club show. You can also order them now and pick them up at the show! http://Www.irishrailwaymodels.com/shop
  2. Picked mine up last night from Hawkins Street. Superb looking coaches, well done RPSI and Murphy Models!
  3. Sounds great Ben, I have a real love for the Glasgow - Edinburgh push-pulls! Any chance you could send the article on? Would love more info on them!
  4. Was quite lucky to have a spin from Connolly to Kilkenny in the Executive set back in 2008 for a work Christmas party. Probably enjoyed the jaunt in the coaches more than the party itself but hey-ho!
  5. I heard an absolute whopper recently that the Alstom DARTs are to be paired with 201s as push pull units. Mad the stuff you hear at ends of platforms or from a driver in Heuston... Interesting info about the 201s though which would be at odds with another post on here today. I’m sure powers that be know what’s going on though!
  6. Looking great so they do. Picking up my own set tomorrow.
  7. Great stuff Paul! Shaping up to be a great weekend!
  8. I always love a pun, John!
  9. Hi John, we only know the identities of three for definite, and they’re the ones in pack A. There were a few more possibly, but we didn’t have enough concrete (sorry!) reference material on them to be 100% sure. Sorry!
  10. Our bubbles are proving to be hugely popular judging by preorders so far, but some are more popular than others. The ‘Irish Cement’ branded bubbles are out in front in the sales charts at the moment. Only a few bubbles received the branding in reality, with most hanging on to their CIE roundel until the very end. Here’s a shot from a couple of weeks back before final assembly! We hope you all are staying safe indoors during the storm. A perfect excuse for some Railway Modelling! You can order your bubbles now http://www.irishrailwaymodels.com/shop
  11. It was hoped that some of the mods would be on board too, but sadly was not to be!
  12. Hope you enjoyed the day Noel!
  13. Marks are selling them. Will be in stock on Wednesday I believe. Cash payment required, no cards.
  14. Not the brightest video in the world (was too busy taking pictures!) but cool sound coming from them on their way south. [video=youtube;IQu0O-2OQDA]
  15. Thanks Rich! We were disappointed with the seams on the original tooling, so we asked our factory to dial them down when we were going through the changes. We're delighted with the result. They're barely visible but you they're there. Just like the real ones.
  16. He's too busy building the extra DARTS needed for the expansion...
  17. Here's a sneak peek from our factory at our CIE bubbles before assembly. Don't they look great? I have to say; I do love them with the CIE roundel... Our factory are working round the clock to make sure they get here by the end of the month! Don't miss out on the best model of the most iconic Irish wagons. Place your order today http://www.irishrailwaymodels.com/shop
  18. Hi everyone, We’ve hit 700 likes on Facebook, and being ambitious types we want to get to 1,000. Can you help us? Like and share our Facebook page and we will give away a prize to one lucky person who ‘likes’ the Irish Railway Models Facebook page. http://www.facebook.com/irishrailwaymodels Cheers!

      • WOW!
  19. It works if you're obviously willing to scratchbuild and kitbash everything required for the layout of course. Propriety track always looks a bit chunky to me, especially the height of the rails, but 2mm finescale looks very nice.
  20. That's a bummer. Luckily the Air Coach is cheap, reliable and faster than the train (sadly)
  21. We recently got this image from our factory in China and reminded us of toffee apples. Quite apt, since these are due around Halloween... They're getting closer, folks! Thank you for the orders so far. Make sure you get yours when they land on Irish shores, order now http://www.irishrailwaymodels.com/shop
  22. We feel it's our duty!
  23. Would love to see some really good images of it, but sadly I can't see myself persuading my fellow Irish Railway Models' crew that it would be a sound business decision to make it RTR!
  24. We threw a motley crew of wagons and coaches behind it too and ran it in the middle and end of train and it didn’t cause any hassle, unlike a wagon from a household name who will remain nameless!
