Our orange bubbles arrived just under a month ago, and already we've sold just over 60% of them. As you may have seen elsewhere, we were in the UK last week surveying another prototype for a future Accurascale model. January is not the time of year to be doing these things! Anyway, here is an exclusive first look of the prototype!

There's a wee review of the bubbles in there too, and lots of BR blue and sector. Right up my street!

This is what happens when items are rare and you miss them first time round. When they’re for sale grab them if you want them, you save money in the long run, it’s the same with IRM stuff. Glad I’ve got my 112, she will always be a favourite!

Brilliant as always Dave, I get more misty eyed over these old Lima catalogues and sets than anything else. I assume that Lexie Tynan is no longer with us? He would be a great man to talk to for an insight into those days.

I think there is a lack of imagination in the marketing and product development too. The trusty British trainset from the established names lack any additional play value and attention grabbing features compared to say, the Triang days. Marklin are doing it properly with their "My World" series, offering durable models of glamourous prototypes like the ICE and TGV, fun freight trains with tipping logs, working cranes etc, and then the wireless remote. It's one of the most popular toys in Germany and with good reason.

You could always buy some more and have a pristine and weathered rake to run, we wouldn’t object! (in all seriousness we’ve had customers specify that they are doing that.) Joking aside, lovely job Noel. We are loving the sight of people personalising the models!

What a year it has been! 2017 saw us successfully bring the first quality ready-to-run Irish outline model wagon to market which received high praise and we quickly followed it with another! We would like to sincerely thank all our customers and supporters for an amazing 2017! It wouldn’t have been possible without you. We’re looking forward to 2018 and four (yes, four!) newly tooled Irish models at least coming down the line! Happy new year from all the Irish Railway Models team!

I’m sure Wrenneire I’ll blow my ‘under the tree’ effort out of the water but I must say it’s pretty cool to have Models you are (somewhat!) responsible for under the tree after the childhood years of getting Hornby trainsets from Santa! Have a great Christmas, peaceful new year and here’s to an exciting 2018 with at least three newly tooled IRM projects on the way throughout the year!

Thanks everyone! I ventured over to the South Dublin Model Railway Club last night to drop off some orders. I was greeted with mince pies and a warm welcome. Thanks to Paul, Joe and everyone for the warm welcome and chat! I think everyone was delighted to see them arrive for Christmas!

Loving this thread as always, Steven! I threw down a bit of Marklin on our new baseboards in IRMTowers recently. Don't think the rest of the IRM team were overly impressed!
