AW NO! im going to regret not buying that in a few years…but collage has just started so argadeen shall have to be sidelined lovely model but alas, it dosnt look right not being weathered!
-
I can go to Dublin on the train early on the 29th, will have to take the bus home!

If anyone wants to make a large meuseum spec layout. You could have Kent station (already a daunting task) Albert quay (also a daunting tank) and link them up with the cork city railway. Which isint impossible in my head. The cork city railway isint that long. mind you if it had stayed open. I could imagine a world where Albert quay is dissused and the train goes through the streets like Wexford to terminate at Kent. You could even fit in a stop at Parnell place bus station and the air coach bus station! Alas My imagination has ran away again

So…where is the secret barn you’ve been hiding your 5’3 Jinty under straw bales for years.
-
Well thankfully, not much has to be done to get an LMS jinty looking like an NCC one no need for all this big horrah about new toolings for small markets And if JB is to be believed….there research wasn’t even thorough enough to get the correct colour of lining

Unless your website deals in transactions…I’d almost find that level of dedication humorous! 100 percent wheatever they had, they’d paid far to much for it….and sh*t hit the fan when d’experts came in what’s more worrying is that’s where the flying snail mark 3 is going…….it’s about to get scrapped peice by peice!
-
Now that’s about as wierd as it gets….until the Leader class releases….or better yet the turfburner What inaccuracies does it have?
-
I understand people buying some of these….others I can’t. There was a C&BR one going around which actually is an abreviation for an Irish railway….and I think that wagon plate could fool somone too this sign is clearly meant to have been a one off commission to commemorate where something WAS!

Honestly the one at the car boot sale looks like it’s been outside for years……I wonder if that’s the one that’s gone missing

When I did the Waterford greenway, I asked the folks in one of the bike rental shops if he cycles the greenway. He cycles often from Dungarvan to Waterford but still never uses the greenway turns out some of the Pro’s won’t use the greenway as it isn't seen as the same as cycling the road. It is the view of some cycles that greenways are a recreational space hence they need to constantly overtake slow recreational cyclists (how ironic is that!) particularly….if time can be saved by using the roads In my part of the world, this is a bit worrying as the road to kinsale is often a cyclist magnet and proposed greenway is not as direct as the road. There would be 3kms of a difference. It would make some difference but obviously the hardcore guys mightn’t use it….

Unfortunately not an original signal no… The history of West Cork Railway Heritage Railways 1962:An operation going from Togher (outside Cork city) to Waterfall, the first stop on the line. Another plan the same year for railway museum at Rocksavage didn’t pass 1965: an attempt was made to buy Waterfall station but failed. Station is demolished afterwards 1984: Cork railway restoration society is formed. Attempted to build on land which they owned but a water main caused problems. Funding for this project witch initially seemed likely was rejected 1986: West Cork Heritage launches the Courtmacsherry-timoleague tramway idea. It was a praiseworthy project but it never got the £250,000 it needed to succeed. 1990: CRRS attempt to buy Farrangalway station but are outbid. 1991: CRRS attempt to lease Albert quay shed but are rejected in there proposal. Also proposed to celebrate the centenary of the T&C line. A short stretch of track was to be temporarily Laid with number 90 going up and down it. While Irish Rail and the ESB were happy to help. There was an issue securing number 90 from Westrail at the time. 1994: the Park royals land in Clonakilty and the Ruston locomotive also ends up there at some stage. Also imporant to not that Halfway vintage club is also set up at some time during this history. While not build on West Cork Trackbed, it is in the shadow of it. It was just a short line that went up and down a short stretch. And I think all the stock belonged to the famous GSRPS. Since 2018/2019 the trackbed had been removed and the rolling stock has gone. The Ruston locomotive and the Bulleid wagon have turned up in Inchicore on open day. Hopefully off to Maam cross once restored. As for the GSR coach and 30 tonne brakevan. They could be scrapped or hidden from the public. I’m not sure on that detail either

I wonder for those who want green ones, what would be the best green to use if somone purchased white ones but want them to be uniform with the green ones ye guys make? Asking for a freind since I’ve already been asked to swap for my green ones, so I assume a demand is there. -
I’m not a lecturer in the subject. But at some stage in the 1980s there were plans to build a heritage railway between Courtmacsherry and Timoleague. It made sense as even today, the trackbed between the two villages and Courtmacsherry station is very much in tact…. There is even preserved suitible motor power to run it! I remember it had very serious investment but was blocked planning permission or something like that. It would have had a level crossing and of course…there is the near constant pedestrian level crossing at courtmacsherry that possibly would have been H&S issue. Not to mention the line is unprotected from the road …..a bit like Wexford but longer. if such a thing came to pass…it would be the slowest commute ever! With the H&S all over it. It would however be one of the largest tourism draws in that region. It would probobly suffer from a lack of space at timoleague! I’ll fetch my book and read up on it with some more info.

Is there plenty of the white pallets still in stock? I might change the colour of mine when they arrive if that kind of surgery is easy enough to carry out.
