  1. Imagine if the Courtmacsherry heritage railway had gone ahead… forget inch abbey, 90 would be going past Timoleague Abbey!
  2. I recodnise a few of those coaches! All they need is decent roof
  3. Finnally got the paint to finish off that LMS stanier coach I got ages ago overall it looks the buisness. If I were to go back I might have purchased a few more of these. The paint malfunctioned and the transfers would not apply properly. Now I have to find a new source for CIE green coaches. this side really shows the craic I was dealing with between the transfers and the paint this side looks better overall it fits in with what I currently have. I have built up such a rake of these coaches that I’ve no idea how they’ll look next to the IRM CIE Green whenever I get a chance to compare the two
  4. They Must’ve gone up the same tree….
  5. PM sent and if anyone else does not want to go through Facebook and wants one, lob me a PM.
  6. The station staff at Clonakilty Junction were very proud of there station and hence kept it clean. Ray good was a member of the staff and is still kicking today in the IRRS cork branch. He opened a railway wall at the site of the old junction about 2 weeks ago. Some of the other stations had bits and peices flung around, or had been overly done up to inflate the cost of running the railway
  7. You can get an order off mark dunlea on Facebook. If you want I can get his email off him. Then you need to source the older type Hornby terrier chassis, and then find how to go about painting it
  8. I asked for them GSWR coaches but somone asked before me! It’s early days in that MGWR project. It will be interesting none the less meanwhile on the viaduct front, work is ongoing as the 1st draft of certain peices are produced. Final height will be 330mm and length of over 2500mm. (Currently it’s sellotaped together)
  9. For CBSCR fans. The market is thriving in terms of the good old 3D printer. between Mark Dunlea’s Number 90, and his current development of the Bandon tank I am to get the GSR plates removed post print….but now I’m sorely tempted on how clean they are!!! Also in the pipeline is not one, But 2 Bandon tank projects working simultaneously. Mark Dunlea’s one is from a scan of one somone built (hmmmm now I wonder who’s that could be). Another more ambitious project is being done by another colegue…aim is for a fully RTR bandon tank for sale per order similar to silver-fox models way of doing things….but fully scratchbuilt anyway here is marks one as it stands…. this photo does not do a great job of showing the detail as he put a wierd 3D filter on the photo. However I’ve seen an early draft at fort Camden model show. It’s coming along slowly but surely Next we have Owen o Neill. Who’s recent work include mallow signalbox, dungarvan signal box, Waterford signalbox, every building at palace east, chapel and macmine junction station! And the short container flats. Also MGWR coaches are on the way (good news for you @jhb171achill!) however for my relevance…..no points for guessing what he is making here based on this photo….
  10. Could electric locomotives haul currently loco hauled sets?
  11. Thank you @murphaph for first dibs on that very expensive locomotive for sale, from somone who’s only income is lunch money and the odd tenner from the grandparents (I know I’m in the wrong hobby!) I really apericiate the gesture of seeing my post and jumping on it!. Thanks to @DJ Dangerous for not only offering to hold my baby 141 for me, but also giving me tips on how to get around “his turf”! While I’m here. I’m leaving tenerife tommorow with my lads… thanks to @leslie10646 and @jhb171achill for helping me get a small custom-made locomotive across the water. Hopefully on my return from holiday it will have returned from its minor overhaul There is countless others I could thank on this tightly knit community. I joined about 2 years ago looking for advice on a layout I haven’t even started now 2 years on. But now it’s amongst my most used apps alongside Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube….NO easy feat for a teenagers smartphone!
  12. In my head A gswr A dean goods or “English” J15…maybe even slightly modified A GSWR livery no.90 coaches a rake of the new Hornby/Hattons 6-wheel coaches. The LMS livery might be similar those bogey coaches are very cheap and do have the wrong roofs….but hopefully somone will fix that with a 3D printer sometime soon
  13. Aperenrly, this is the model of the ICR that Irish rail were given in 2007 when they were ordered one is for sale on Facebook for €500 right now via Garry mander
  14. Perhaps number 90 could have been something to pick up?
  15. If the Dublin underground is anything to go by, me…a 19 year old may never see the project progress much further. Then multi million feasibility studies! although I believe the plans currently for the Cluas re-use Blackrock station ….but not much else of the old CBPR. It’s a shame Carigoline is outside the city boundary otherwise the Cluas would go there along that (reasonably) well preserved trackbed
  16. Despite being so near to what is now ringaskiddy port. I can imagine That speed was far more important then power on that line
  17. Christ 00 works J24 really inflated its price since I got one
  18. When they were lifting the track at the viaduct , they found loads of them road bowling balls stuck in the frames……more metal for the scrap man I guess!
  19. still not ideal yet, but getting there you could make an excellent chetwynd viaduct from scratch building but the time involved would be astronomical. 3D printing it offers value for time for these very specific cases i think I’ll be picking up that viaduct and make a small (yes small) single line diorama depending on how well the print turns out
  20. Yer man Owen is very good. He is currently working on a full macmine junction station kit, Chetwynd viaduct kit, and even some GSR 6 wheel/Short bogey design….
  21. Achill is very remote. Any other examples you know of with situations like this? Presumably they must be all around the county where would one go about finding them
  22. If you want to buy tickets Online you can. I think it’s also allows to skip the que if that’s necessary
  23. IRM is trying to distance itself from the illegal seahorse trading
