I think so too, though I don’t have a way of contacting him -
They will be selling at the cork swap meet for €60 I’m told
-
As part of the deal for the AEC railcars. I managed to get a number 90 print and a suitable chassis, and while the chassis needs a bit of work. Number 90 is well underway.

IRM At The Dublin Show 2022 - Just What Will We Announce?
Westcorkrailway replied to Warbonnet's topic in News
I think I have seen a photo of a green AEC railcar at mallow with the caption “heading for Fermoy” however absolutely don’t quote me on that speaking of AEC railcars look at this one…spotless condition next to 201 and 552! (Although if I’m right there I’d a bit of that GSR grey coming through at the end of the water tank on 201) 201 was later on repainted into CIE black for the IRRS courtmacsherry tour I wish Silver-fox painted my one in that post 55 green, I might have even held on to it longer! -

This did happen with the mark 2 announcement, litterally no one put in a good guess. that footbridge project from a while back is the only other thing that springs to mind not that I can afford to talk, my Silver fox AEC railcars are being sold tommorow because I can’t afford to keep them!! -

They could be hiding maroon mark 2s somewhere….I’d like to remind you it’s not the first time a certain livery has been hiding in the secret stash at IRM towers (A3r)! -
"They never ran like that" (Ballast train fun)
Westcorkrailway replied to Niles's topic in What's happening on the network?
Yknow this is perfect marketing for selling models even though “it never ran like that” I’d argue running like that in preservation fits the bill -

3! at least spread them out between 3 different eras to save us 1 kidney! I suppose it’s time for predictions….probobly the biggest shot in the dark yet. powered C class hunslet AEC railcar unpowered Park Royals ammonia wagon laminates timber wagon maybe a CIE van simular to the banana wagons we saw earlier on this month it will also be nice to see some of the decorated samples of things we already know are coming in the pipeline -
Yeah I saw they have S&S, CBPR and CMLR locos all in the works or finished it’s not ideal but it’s still a whole lot better then plastic red, plastic yellow and plastic blue

digital property is the most mind boggling…..paying for non tangible items I can’t wrap my head around….shame as I’m sure we could all make some serious money if we knew!

Up until recently, the most expensive video game item was 32,000 for a sealed copy is super Mario Bros (1985). Now it’s up to 2 or 3 million. the main change seems to be a heavy dos of money laundering next they’ll be money laundering with 071’s!

A few from Malahide Model Railway Museum
Westcorkrailway replied to jhb171achill's topic in Irish Models
A LOT of foreign loco power was used on the CBSC. The F6, J26 ect. Along with foreign vehicles. From midland coaches to GNR open wagons. I think the very last bandon coaches were withdrawn in the late 50s. Maybe even 1960 and they were only kept for the courtmacsherry excursions as the curves were challenging I know the CMDR purchased a tank engine of the the DSER. This had the funny effect of 2 identical locos being designated DIFFERENT classes under amalgamation. If you go further back the west cork purchased a lot of GSWR stock 2nd hand in the early days. An Ex L&LSR 5’3 engine was converted from 0-6-0 to 2-4-0 for the kinsale branch. on the opposite end of the spectrum. A few bandon tanks had a vacation on Dublin commuter trains. 1 or two never returning. This is when we got a Bandon tank in Green livery…something I’d love to see modelled accurately -
I knew I’d paid too much for that 071 on ebay
-
I’m always contemplating doing that as well. There is a bandon tank, an F6, a J26, J30, Agrideen and mologa in “big” scale I hear rumours of a C class 3D print too and as you say, plenty of coaches the only thing holding me back is building the stock….and the track!
