Another productive weekend at Maam cross station when the volunteers installed a ground frame which was connected to the points leading to the platform, the ground frame is fully interlocked with the points and can only be released by the insertion of an ETS staff, well done to all concerned. That sure was a quick nine years....Tara junction has certainly evolved through that time from a learning curve with DCC to the present day and the purchase of an ESU lokprogrammer to add even more variety to the sound chipped locomotives....Thank you to everyone that has commented on the layout during that time and to IRM and Murphy models for the fantastic models ....it has been an interesting journey
  13. Good plan Robert, you could extend the container siding and install a facing point on the left which in turn would allow a freight/permanent way locomotive run around its train.via the platforms thus avoiding blocking up the station area, it would also provide you with a loop Something similar to the track plan of the current Longford yard.
  14. Some early morning photos of the MPD at Tara junction, with various types of locomotives under going servicing and on standby. 126 has arrived with the weekly oil train transfer.
