  1. Gentlemen an excellent choice of wagons-the 42' bogie flat wagon being a particular favourite of mine and a DCC fitted plough van thrown in......WOW well done.
  2. Looking forward to seeing Ballyredmond and others..... the hotel is booked for the after party....
  3. I thoroughly enjoyed the exhibition, one of the best in years, excellent layouts to be seen and lots of bargains to be had. Roll on next year=highly recommended A selection of photos from Saturday.....
  4. I have nearly finished my 201silver fox bodied locomotive,I used a 141 chassis to improve running, I also fitted a 181 loco sound chip in order to recreate the replacement GM B645 engine which were fitted to the real locos in their day I purchased the A/C class detailing kit off des at SSM to improve the look of the loco and also gave it a repaint. Here we see the loco on test with the IRM ballast hoppers. Another view from the present is of retro liveried loco 073 working a reconfigured Sperry train with the addition of a bogie spoil wagon attached to the rear for added brake force..and 071 working the IWT liner,
  5. Its 075 as 074 is in Westport and 086 is in Limerick.
  6. Lovely photo-the yards covered a large area. I see a B+I 40' container on the bottom right of the photo.
  7. For that particular type of vacuum brake pipe I used some black electrical wire, I used it for my C 201 class upgrade.
  8. Just to add to the above photos, although both the LP and timber wagon have the same type of bogie ,the timber wagon has an extra set of brake blocks located at the outer end of the bogie, see the second photo for this feature.
  9. A risk assessment was done of the location and it was recommended that the wagons should have the loading/unloading equipment at the western end of the silo to facilitate a quicker discharging process etc. WREENEIRE-thanks for the photos.
  10. Done-best of luck lads
  11. And just for a comparison here is the 47' LP bogie flat wagon 30237-with the 62'9" timber bogie wagon behind.
  12. In a scene reminiscent of the 1970s,CIE loco 161 is seen here at the Lakeview freight terminal having shunted three 'brand new' orange cement bubbles into position for unloading, with more of the bubbles waiting their turn to be discharged behind that.
  13. 9001+8208 on Tara junction.
  14. The FUD version looks the business, I might try one or two as I have spare Bachmann Y25 bogies in the wagon shop.
  15. Very nice Robbie well done.
  16. Some more buses on the production line paint shop at Tara junction.
  17. Another addition to the 071 fleet-0117083 fresh from its bodywork overhaul is seen here hauling a HOBS set through platform 2 where it will discharge ballast along the track, The loco has been fitted with replacement wipers to improve appearance and with thanks to Steve at Railtec who provided the waterslide transfers for 083.
  18. Some freight action on Tara junction and at the Lakeview freight yard. 156+183 haul a bogie Guinness/two axle cement liner thru the junction as 073 is held at a signal on the opposite line, 0117078 is stabled on the down siding with the bogie spoil wagons-which are waiting to be unloaded. 0117077 arrives at the Lakeview freight yard from Waterford with the DFDS CPW liner.
  19. Thanks Noel. If the lighting units don't give enough light for the head lights then my plan is to have them used as the Cab lights instead.
  20. I am in the process of giving my Silver model 201 C class model an upgrade, Having followed Noels Kingsbridge workbench re motoring of his 201,I decided on a similar project, Firstly I selected a spare 141 and used its chassis as the main part, I then purchased a SSM C class detailing kit at added it to the resin body of the loco which as Noel has correctly stated fits like a glove onto the chassis, I am currently awaiting a sound chip-a 181 loco with the 645 sounding engine to complete, I have repainted the loco as the intention is to have it look like one that is near the end of its working life-1986/1987 era. Here are a few photos of progress so far..
  21. Always one of the better exhibitions and hopefully one that I will attend again this year all going well..
  22. And I thought 10 stored 201s were bad in this country but 4 1/2 miles of stored locomotives......
  23. Not a great start to 2018 when 56 070 failed at the factory sidings, 08 672 is seen here hauling the failed 56 to the MPD for attention, Later on the 08 returned to shunt the wagons from the factory sidings to the loop in preparation for the two class 20s to work the train forward. In the meantime a HST screams by with the up Highland Chieftain.
