Tara mines train in action on Josephs bridge. Rathmichael.

  5. Evening gents, thank you for all your kind comments, I have uploaded a video of the MPV 100 to my YouTube channel, However in the meantime 0117080 is seen here hauling failed 0117076 out of the siding at the station before running around and hauling it for attention to the MPD. In the background NIR blue liveried 208 works an evening stopping service thru the junction.
  6. Afternoon gents,a Sunday afternoon on the junction sees various 141/181,071 locos stable on the MPD until their next turn of duty, From the left we have CIE 084,088,IE187,behind that IR 080,IE 146 and CIE 161. Some overnight signal replacement also took place, The original signal TJ 50 has been replaced by twin signals to control movements from the bay platform and the new platform loop road, Loco 073 is seen here passing the new signal TJ 60 and TJ 61 while exiting from the platform with a stopping service formed by a Mk3 set.
  7. That would make sense and I presume the sign was added to the side of the van at that time? Why would a brake have been required at all on an empty stock transfer? Was it capable/required to provide light/heat to the stock once at Inchicore? Yes the wording was added at that time, A brake was required due to the steep gradient between Heuston and Inchicore known as the gullet, No the GSV wasn't required to provide any power to any empty coaches at Inchicore. It was just used to provide brake force to the coaches.
  8. On withdrawal from active passenger train services with IE GSV 3189 was used for a period for stock transfers between Heuston sidings and Inchicore, The GSV could haul empty Mk2 and Mk3 coaches to and from those locations for the purpose of exams or overhauls.
  9. Great memories of a fabulous branch both to work on and in the early days get the cab rides on.
  10. A new arrival at the per-way sidings is my mini MPV 100....seen here being admired by the per-way inspector and some of his team, Another sound fitted gem from Viessmann.
  11. I had a very enjoyable two days at this exhibition, It was great to meet up with Kirley,Hunslet 102 and Markle Jim, Great layouts,O'Connell street and Bleach green looked well and had large numbers in attendance anytime I passed, Fair play to the Ayr MRC who had a delightful Irish themed DCC sound layout-Baile dun Griffin, It had a modern feel to it with lots of action, Well done to all concerned for a fabulous exhibition.
  12. A updated version of this book will be released over the next few months.

  16. This evenings operations at Tara junction seen 0117071 arrive on the middle road with the Sperry train and will run around once the Arrow railcar 2601 departs from the station, On platform one 2607+2608 prepare to depart in the opposite direction with an evening commuter service. With the Loop road now clear 0117071 has a straight run through with the signaller giving the driver an amber signal ahead 0117071 approaches the Sperry train under the watchful eyes of the Shunter/Guard.
