  1. What did it cost? Is it big enough to park bicycles?
  2. I'm not sure that widening the cab and tender would have produced a useful improvement in power output....
  3. ....and I'm reminded that there were Church homes for "troubled" people, miserable though these were.
  4. No, but the Church probably made sure of that back then
  5. To be fair, like Britain, Ireland also has a proud tradition of vandalism and arson. It's kind of ingrained, and any target is fair game, whether it's a heritage railway or migrants.
  6. ...and articulating them. If I recall correctly, the Anbrico arrangement between cab and passenger section was fixed, so the cab did not swing.
  7. I'm not sure any excuse is needed.
  8. Some may not have been lit at all.....
  9. Feralism is one of few consistent growth areas at the moment.
  10. Minnesota, by chance?
  11. Those days are gone. Ireland is in sovereign wealth fund territory now, assuming they don't spend the tax surpluses on bicycle shelters. EU needs to reserve money for those hoping to join the EU, like Serbia (good luck with that), Montenegro, North Macedonia, Albania (major cannabis source) etc.
  12. Britain has nicked loads of Filipinos over the decades for the NHS and care home staff. Luxury cruise lines such as Cunard are substantially crewed by Filipinos, who have a lengthy maritime tradition
  13. Might it be possible to swap roofs and correct the ends accordingly?
  14. There might be some Russian ones available
  15. There must be some way of measuring up the doors, panelling, etc. to see if those bits could be adapted into actual designs. I'm thinking cut 'n shut...
  16. I reckon that call centre is in the Philippines - native Tagalog speakers sound very much like that when they switch to English.
  17. Would that be near where they dump the oul glow-in-the-dark?
  18. As a side-note to the Genesis generic coaches, it looks like Rapido are getting in on the act by producing their own "Evolution" range of generic pre-group style 48ft non-corridor carriages. As ever, the question is: what are they based on? Is it a mix of different prototypes and, if so, which ones? Have they been compressed or stretched in any way?
  19. If the logistics can be sorted out, why not? The venue would need to be centred on a tram/rail hub, though, as it's not exactly easy to move that kind of infrastructure around.
  20. Because the competition was only meant for trams.
  21. The J26 bare etch would be an Alphagrafix thing as they already do the 7mm kit, rather than Worsley Works.
  22. In that case, it may be time for a scratchbuild in the correct size....
  23. I worked in Ealing for nearly nine years, and I'm struggling to work out what went where compared to how the place is today.
  24. Given that the kit is reputed to be 1:87, it would be more HOn3½ than OO9, on 12mm gauge track.
