  1. Excellent addition Richard.
  2. I would say it was a fairly standard bauxite across all the Railway Companies.
  3. Thanks Eamonn, for some reason I thought you had a collection of them. Good luck with your upgrading.
  4. Lots going on there Eamonn, how many A Classes have you now?
  5. The Grey livery denotes an "unfitted" van.
  6. Some GNR Provincial Wagon Kits finished and getting their first run out on Kirley Junction. They are three 10T Vans, one unfitted, and a 20T Brake Van.
  7. Thanks for your answer David and I can understand your reluctance to post an image. It's just that 3 years is a long time to wait on a promised model when it seems to be pushed back to fill new orders for existing models. To my mind if you make a promise to your customers, “What we are looking for is small deposits of just 25 euro for 25 models. If this requirement can be satisfied then there will be a model of 461 available this year” there must be some onus on you to keep your commitment to those who met your conditions.
  8. Enjoyed my visit to an excellent Show by 1st Bangor MRC. I was joined by The Derry Road and we met up with John with his Campbell Riverside Depot layout. The layout I spent most time with was the Ulster MRC who showed one based on Lisburn Station. Only 'Irish' Stock was running today and included were 3 Class 80's and an MED Set built and painted by a sign-writer back in the 70's. The were donated to the club lately by his widow. Tony Ragg's Octavia Hill layout Willian Redpath's Moria Station layout Part of Moneygawn layout where the model-maker has cleverly used fine net curtain for his security fence. Some BCDR stock including 6 wheeled coaches. Another 'grand day out'. I forgot to mention we also met up with Nelson who was running his family layout. He is about to undertake an exciting project but I'll leave it to him to tell you about in his own time.
  9. Hope to be there about 2pm, see you there Raymond.
  10. Reading Edwin McMillian's book 'Dark Days & Brighter Days for NIR' I came across further confirmation on Hunslet's information above. "In Dec 1980, six new 50T capacity, vacuum-braked bogie rail carrying wagons were delivered to NIR. Built by CIE at their Inchicore in Dublin Works, each wagon was fitted by two petrol driven crane units enabling a total load of 50 rails to be loaded or unloaded by two men within about a half an hour. The new wagons were numbered C476 to C486, and replaced NIR's existing 40T bogie timber trucks, which dated from 1911'. I think Flying Scotsman may have done some models of these a while back.
  11. Any chance of a view of the CAD, just to give us something to hang on to?
  12. 1st Bangor Model Railway Club May Show on this weekend. Friday 27th May 19:30-21:30 Saturday 28th May 10:00-16:30 Can't find much details except there will be over 40 stands.
  13. Nice to see closeup some of the detail on this layout.
  14. Looking forward to seeing your layout John.
  15. Thanks for the Info Eoin.
  16. Now that's what I call a production line. I notice you keep the bogie frames away from contact with the wheels, wondering how do you do the coupling connections, are they mounted on the body?
  17. Thanks Guys, next out of the Loco shed is a GNR(I) JT Locomotive, should be ready for a test run next week.
  18. If you want a rake of these wagons the only way to go is to respray. Strip them. Paint them. Weshty supplies the transfers but be warned there is about 50 individual pieces to each wagon and after the first wagon I got it down to 40 mins to cut out and apply the decals to each one.
  19. GNR(I)SG Class locomotive. Lots of problems on this my first brass locomotive kit build but at last it runs. But running not as well as I had hoped, need to re look at the pickups and the weight factor. [video=youtube;P-05bnF5Rvw]
  20. Hunslet http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UNKNOWN-IRISH-RAILWAYS-OO-GAUGE-BLUE-DIESEL-LOCO-103-LIMA-CHASSIS-/152084619301? Same seller is selling an A Class, Sulzer, 141 plus coaches. Looks like they would need some work and respray to bring them up to standard, worth a challenge to someone?

    New Website

Looks good Dave, had to hunt for the Storage section but eventually found it.
  22. I take it you are building the 3 car set with the Power Trailer 64 feet, with the Intermediate and Driving Trailer at 57 feet long. You will need donor coaches and the LMS range would be the ones to go for. I’ll PM you with some more details.
  23. Following this one with great interest.
  24. Any ideas on the colours to paint this model John?
  25. Try http://www.barrowmor.../Prototype.html scroll down to Book 400 (ON Track Plant) any amount of drawings here.
