  2. One for the Christmas Stocking The Tracks of my Railway Years -Roy Carlisle I'm just dipping into it now, great pictures. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/1527201244/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1478724938&sr=8-2&keywords=the+tracks+of+my+railway+years
  3. I am currently building some BUT Railcars the 700 & 900 Series and am looking for information on how these Railcars were used by the various Railway Companies. I know they were initially used by the GNR on the Enterprise Service. 1. What would be the makeup of an ‘Enterprise’ train and how many Power Cars were used? 2. Were both the 700 & 900 (full cab or half cab as they are sometimes referred too) ever used in the same train formation? 3. What formation did CIE use after they received the BUT’s? 4. Similarly how did the UTA structure BUT Trains? 5. Finally how did NIR utilise these Railcars on their Services? I was looking in Jonathan Allen’s excellent book on the NIR and he helpfully lists Trailers used by the BUT’s and because of their unusual corridor connection (what was the thinking behind that idea?) I take it coaches so adapted could only be linked up to BUT Railcars. Jonathan lists the following trailers that the NIR inherited and could only be used on BUT’s; Catering vehicles -three B6, B8 & B9 Brake First Corridor -two D5 & F16 Brake Standard Open -four 2 L12’s & 2 L14’s Composite Corridor -three C2 & 2 F16’s Standard Open –three 2 K15’s & K23. In particular I would like to know for model train operations how many Power Cars were used in any train formation. Hope someone out there can help
  4. Thanks Zivan for the update, hope the tests work out.
  5. Like the fine detail Noel, good to see 071 in it's 'proper' livery.
  6. Kevin, found this one on my PC, apologies to the owner, I have no details where I found it.
  7. John, double rubber bands, see picture of chassis at #3 above
  8. looking forward to your 'correct' bogie sides Eoin. In the meantime I added some temporary sides. This ebay Q Kit purchase started like this and ended thus.
  9. With your expertise this is one to look forward to, it's bound to be innovative.
  10. After the page after page on this forum about getting the correct chassis with the protypical wheel spacing for an A Class I was sure that someone of you eagle eyes readers would have spotted my latest project. The chassis came in kit form from Australia and I outsourced the building of it to a friend who did his usual superb job.
  11. Great to see your layout yesterday Mike with such a variety of Irish rolling stock, I'm just amazed how you can work in such a small scale.

    Cultra

Just back from the Model Railway Day, Cultra. An enjoyable day not only with the quality of the layouts but also meeting up with many friends including Site members. Some of my highlights; Lisburn Annascaul 00n3 Moria Arigna Town A delight to meet David and see in real life his wonderful model. I took some shots of angles you don't usually see on his thread. He was very patient in explaining how he did things including how he went about making resin castings which was very helpful. Lucan South It's very rare that you see the real locomotive and model in the same building Isn't it a beauty. This 7mm scale wagon was one of the displays in the Transport Museum. Well done to Ian Sinclair and his team for organising the event.
  13. The latest project, doesn't it look strange without the bogie covers.
  14. Always a delight to see your models John.

    Sulzer Kit

Looks a great job, well done, it's great getting to this stage after all your hard work. Looking forward to the finished model.
  16. Excellent picture Noel, you nearly get the impression it had been raining earlier before the shot was taken.

    See you there David
  18. Looking good, must have a chat with you at the show on your layering techniques.
  19. The detail on the bogie side looks fantastic Eoin, once you are satisfied with the components is casting the next stage?
  20. Thanks Guys for your comments, I think the 6mins + was a bit long and should have done some more editing. Noel, that's the trouble with video, you can't edit out the bits that you did not mean to show. There are a lot more 'bits' that were not meant to appear.
