  1. Another one bits the dust!
  2. Looks superb Des, what a lovely looking model and one I would like to make sometime.
  3. "Navan Station might be an option if you wanted something with a smaller footprint? Let me know." Thanks Weshty for the picture link, I agree they are special buildings. Richie, I'll get round to photographs of Cultra and contact you when I have them. I would be interest in Navan Station and I’ll PM you tomorrow about it.
  4. Dexys, Springsteen & Neil Youngs new album - not for the faint hearted
  5. Richie I am looking for a station similar to the Adavoyle Layout if you know it but of medium size. The stations below are of Warrenpoint, Lurgan & Lisburn, all long gone but a representation of that style is what I’m after. PS If you are after photographs of Cultra I could take some and forward them to you.
  6. Very impressive Gareth, may I register an interest when they become available.
  7. A nice piece of rail history recorded
  8. Amongst the categories of buildings that you already have completed - kit wise, would you have any stations constructed with polychrome brick as used by the GNR?
  9. Anthony you’re just a fountain of knowledge, in all the MIR kits I built I only came across waterslide or rub-on transfers. Don’t remember even seeing vinyl transfers in their catalogue. Problem solved -thanks again.
  10. I am trying to finish off some MIR cement bubbles and put some transfers in water to loosen them before applying to the model. Nothing happened so I tried some warm water to see if it loosened then from the backing paper but after letting them soak for 20 mins no release. Anyone any ideas?
  11. Excellent work John as usual
  12. Sorry, when I read “bargain online” I immediately thought of ebay. Now that the situation is clarified I wholly support your premise and I know there are many eagle eyed trawlers of the net on this site –Good hunting.
  13. I have mixed view on this new thread. While it’s nice to be informed of an item you may have missed, if you are actually bidding on it the last thing you want is more potential bidders .
  14. Sorry Dave I was just going by the Murphy Web Site showing CIE 3rd/Brake Green released Aug-00 followed by the Woolwich black version Sept 00. However seeing the mistakes and double entries on his spread sheet I take it this entry was not accurate.
  15. Amen to all that -maybe this thread has run its course?
  16. Looks the part -well done.
  17. Thank Dave for the latest episode in the MM story. I suppose chronologically the CIE 3rd/Brake Green coach would have next before the black Woolwich versions? I did not realise that Paddy Murphy continued using Lima after he started using Bachmann. Keep up the good work.
  18. It must have taken an awful lot of individual photographs and clever editing to put that sequence together.
  19. Thanks for the reminder Steventrain, I've never been to it, must try to support it this year.
  20. While I would use major retailers to buy certain bulk items, I would still use my local supplier as I value having a local model shop and would wish to support the service they can give.
  21. The Helix is 4 foot wide, I used flexitrack starting on the outside, and coming in equidistant for the next two tracks. Test runs have proved positive so far but I have not tried a rake more than five as yet. Inspiration from Everard Junction on You Tube.
  22. Sorry no, but probably Retro could give the proper technical explanation to this track layout as he is familiar with all things NIR.
  23. Anthony have you seen the guard rails on the loop from Central Station to Gt. Victoria Street, the curve must be very tight for the guard rail run right round the loop.
  24. Looking forward to the next 2 "Woolwich" models. Thanks for the pics on the catalogue Dave.
  25. Very impressive Frank -oozes atmosphere.
