  1. I'm also having a bit of trouble with them on my Hornby track. They don't seem to like the points very much.
  2. That was WONDERFUL. Tramore aside, this just oozes atmosphere! LOVE it!
  3. It's actually an early test 3d print of one of @Bullet_Wanderers incredible files. It's static and unpainted, hence the black and white authenticity hiding the fact.
  4. MGWR j26 departs Tramore with the 13:00 to Manor street made up of a then new park royal bogie delivered mere weeks earlier and 2 6-wheelers of unknown origin, possibly MGWR. While never happened, it was nearly possible.
  5. Wow, they really were so much more than just trains! Would any other companies on this Island have had such labs?
  6. What type of experiments were they cooking up in "THE LABORATORY"? I can only think of detonators possibly? Edit: oh right, paint!
  7. Just had a look through this thread. You've made rolling stock I can only dream to have! Very well done!
  8. The second of many awards this layout is sure to pickup. Bravo Alan!
  9. They really don't make em like they used to. Also worth baring in mind that these trains were toys first and models second. Wonder how many of today's fads will be running in 60 years time??
  10. I feel like it's more poetic than that, it seems like he's looking at someone, possibly the person hanging out the window, as if they're saying goodbye, running along beside the train, looking at this person for what might be the last time if this train is bound for rosslare. To take it even further he's sprinting in a last ditch attempt at confessing his love before she leaves to work in the UK. He knows he's got one last chance, and this is it so he sprints, frantically shouting out over the sound of the engines before he runs out of platform and the train goes out of sight. He's left standing there, out of breath and on the platform edge, not knowing if she heard him or not, but knowing he'll have to wait at the station for the rest of the day, watching every train arrive, hoping and praying she's on it. Got a bit carried away there, probably just the wrong platform.
  11. These aren't the puns you're looking for...
  12. I printed out the loco use my cheap creality ender 3 and despite the obvious imperfections, I believe it came out rather well. The only advice I can give is the use of tree supports rather than walls and a top z distance of 0.22mm seems to yield the best snap off results. Must emphasize the above is merely a test print, resin would no doubt have better results. How lucky I am to find W&T rolling stock files as well as the gentleman that is Bulletwanderer.
  13. Tramore is also planning to be in attendance for the second year running. With some more prototypical rolling stock this time round!
  14. Bringing back an old thread here, but would anybody happen to know if the van had the sliding door on one side or both?
  15. A class shiny (but usually dirty) silver please!
  16. I was thinking that too but couldn't find a picture....
  17. Above is a page of the Waterford and Tramore railway by Fayle and Newman. I've run into some confusion. The middle photo shows Tramore station 1959 when the track had been largely removed bar a single line. The bottom picture shows the station in 1960. The track seems to have been reinstated less than a year later! The whole line closed in 1960 so I've been led to believe the track was removed, relayed and removed again in the space of less than a year! Is this correct or an error on behalf of the publishers? (Not trying to damage their reputation, just seems hard to believe!)
  18. 121 class in silver 1950s livery. Cc1 in black and tan??

    Steam railcars

How many Clayton's were there? Did they all end up on the W&T or were some of them immediately scrapped?
  20. Glorious! Looks to be grand drying weather there anyway!
  21. Spurred on by Mol and out of fear I might miss out I duly placed a pre-order and I was pleasantly surprised that I was entitled to discounts with the very few points I had built up. Very much appreciated AS/IRM!
  22. Or none if modelling tramore in Railcar days! Unfortunately, the aul Leaving Certificate is getting in the way of my modelling at the moment. I'll get back to it soon. Just a month or two to go....
  23. As someone who is (sort of) in the process of modelling the w&t this is honestly incredible. Captures the site perfectly!
