  1. Shame there aren't more events to commemorate these significant dates.
  2. Any news on the WLWR loco? The 800s are far too big for my little branchline. Although it is looking VERY good.
  3. Yor a brave man. Too many wires for me....
  4. Fair play to ya Gibbo, looking well. Says alot that the man has been on the forum for a few days and has already won the day 4 times.....
  5. Drool........
  6. Sorry not very clear. The tweezers are for picking the fluff out of the motor and the power cables are not in use. They're just sitting there and once applied to the motor it occasionally moves a tiny bit but mostly just makes a puff of smoke. The brushes and commutator have been cleaned but the magnet is slightly weak however it still chugs around by hand however I suspect it may be the problem.
  7. Ah ha! I haven't given up on this just yet! On the workbench lately was the triang 3F which is running well, although it does need a new buffer. Although so does literally every single piece of rolling stock in this entire collection! Nellie works well flawlessly in forward detection although very much the opposite in reverse. And finally, I set out repairing the triang diesel. Seems to be a problem with the motor though. Not responding. Any thoughts?
  8. Everyone needs to play trains from time to time...... Don't ask how they got the car in that wagon! Spurred on by the accessories with these bullied opens, I've had the realistic but very infuriating idea to fit 3 links to my stock. I just need an uncoupler and a very steady hand.
  9. Road bridge looking lovely derek, and your scratchbuilt footbridge from earlier in the thread is better than i could hope to create right now!
  10. While it's not quite been a month, heres some, what seems like early Progress! The "so shiny it's blinding" roof has not gotten a lovely coat of rust, its nice to be able to look at it with the lights on now! Painting of the station has gone ahead at last in what (I hope) are close enough to GSR early CIE station colours! The concourse has been roofed and flooring added too. And finally thanks to the lads at IRM, the first prototypicalish train has arrived at Beagnach end! I've reached a bit of a creative block on how to furnish the concourse though. Any easily scratch built suggestions?
  11. A pre-weathered authentically filthy silver one!
  12. So none of these down the back of the couch at IRM towers?
  13. Thanks very much for all your help. Much appreciated.
  14. Could have something to do with the staggering of the platforms? Just a guess.
  15. My thoughts exactly, i tried searching for this thread earlier and couldn't find it.
  16. Thanks @Horsetan PM sent
  17. God almighty, this layout is stunning! Yet another question of "How did i miss this?"
  18. Now, I don't know a lot but I for one quite like all those sidings! looks very Northwall to me (whose never been to Northwall! ) Keep it up, I'm lookin forward to seeing this progress.
  19. really getting somewhere now lad, lookin forward to seeing the place develop!
  20. I for one, would be very interested in this, We should see if bord na mona are willing to fire up an engine for us. ( I realize that's very unlikely.) Should be a good trip if numbers are high enough.
  21. kind of, like real steam engines they seem to have their own moods.......
  22. I was always thinking of something like that, but id say it would require a vast amount of funds.
  23. Strange, he still hasn't gotten back to me..... I told him I would pay him once i received a confirmation email. Perhaps this is why I've received no reply?
  24. I think your right, because when you left I got it working again!
  25. It has to be the Kingsbridge one for me, look at all those early diesels! Hauling a railcar too.... (I'm probably wrong about that....)
