My Lima 201's run on all Peco code 75 track without any problem - can't speak about coaches and wagons though.
Merry Christmas to all on the forum.

One of the things that Lima were always well known for was the relative coarseness of their wheels. However, I am pleasantly surprised at how well my two Lima 201's run through Peco code 75 pointwork - no hesitation whatsoever.

Does anyone have information about the alterations done to the two mk2b FK's to produce buffet/snack cars 4401/2? There is a photos on the VCT website but it isn't very clear whether the windows that were filled in were on the corridor side or not.
Many thanks.

I was very interested in the photo of FO 1146. It is basically a first class version of the 1449-1496 series of SO. The drawings I have of this coach show it having two toilet windows per side but photos show it with either one and two windows per side. Was there any rhyme or reason for the different versions.

The morning train from Limerick arrived at Waterford around midday but did not depart for Rosslare until some 5 hours later. During that time where was it, in the through platforms 3/4 or the bays 5/6?

When IR rebuilt the ex BR coaches they acquired from Vic Berry, were they all laid out as open coaches? I ask because two of them were mk2a FK's and I wondered how they dealt with the middle door on the corridor side. In order to fit it in, the adjacent windows were in a slightly different position to all the others. Maybe they just blocked it up!

I recently picked up a copy of Irish Railways Past and Present by Michael HC Baker and in it, on page 48, is a picture of a Bell Line train leaving Waterford for Dublin, 17 container wagons plus brake van! The days when old ways of working had not quite been up to date for the modern railway.

MM produce an example of the Cravens in 1st class guise in ST livery. What was the timescale for this and did any survive to carry the twin Tipp-Ex stripes?
Many thanks.

Thanks for that Rich.
The next batch of MM mk2d's are meant to include the open first and open composite, models that have not so far been produced, unless I am mistaken.

Bearing in mind that so few of the Park Royals had toilets when first in traffic, a lot of their turns later in life were on long distance services with few stops. Seems like you would have to cross your legs rather hard on occasions 'cos you couldn't rely on neighbouring carriages having toilets!

I was talking to the proprietor of my local secondhand bookshop here in Pershore recently and he said that, of all the topics that might be of interest to the male of the species, railways was the one in serious decline from a book point of view.

With the impending arrival of MM mk 2d's in super train livery, is there a definitive list anywhere of the MM mk 2d's produced to date, please? I tried looking on MM's website last night but the link to the list of everything produced by MM to date was not working.

I've been going to the Warley MRE for more years than I can remember and I'd be interested to hear what people thought of it this year. Staged in one of the halls at the NEC, it is more a show than an exhibition, whatever that means!

C-rail now produce three Bell Line containers, 20', 20' reefer and 40'. What would have been a typical consist of the Waterford to Heuston, North Wall, Limerick and Cork Bell Line trains, please?

It was very sad the way that things turned out - full of promise but unable to deliver - no doubt some will say that IR/IE played a part by the rundown of the Athenry-Claremorris line - when Tuam ceased to be a block post, that had the effect of denying Westrail access to the network or have I got it all wrong?
