  1. I have a couple of Silver Fox 101’s and I am very pleased with them. They are very heavy with excellent slow running. Stephen
  2. Heljan, Accurascale’s recent acquisition, produce a model of the GWR diesel railcar, the forerunner to the GNR/CIE railcars. Bearing this in mind, maybe Heljan should be looking into the Irish variant. Stephen
  3. Wasn’t the RPSI preserved 121 painted in this livery for a brief period of time? Stephen
  4. The triple track west of Waterford was originally two tracks towards Limerick Junction and one towards Dublin. In later years there were three single lines towards Dublin, Limerick Junction and Mallow. The latter period would have been a lovely one to model to just watch trains go by. Stephen
  5. A nice piece of fiction but very convincing. Stephen
  6. RIP. Stephen
  7. So sorry to hear the news. I’ve suffered flooding but fire is a different thing altogether. It takes no prisoners but at least you and yours are ok. Stephen
  8. A lovely tribute, Leslie. Stephen
  9. I haven’t seen any mention of the scale. Whatever it is, the whole scene is quite delightful. What about North Wall (MGWR)? Stephen
  10. Where can we get new number transfers, I have two class 141’s looking for new numbers? Stephen
  11. The 7mm J18 is currently not shown on the Alphagrafix website. Interesting. Stephen

  14. What is more likely is that he does it for a living, lucky chap. Stephen
  15. Wasn’t the use rail transport a condition of the original planning permission! What has changed apart from the current unavailability of rail transport due to ongoing works in the port of Dublin? Stephen
  16. The tender is wrong, should be the same as on the N. Maybe Rapido will donthis version at a later date. Also, the K1a appears to be more an Irish N with 6’ 0” drivers rather than an Irish U. Strange. Stephen
  17. They’ve also announced the Southern U class 2-6-0, which has the potential for a GSR K1a version. Unfortunately, the tender is wrong, the N/K1 is correct. Stephen
  18. Yup, both Mark’s Models and Rails of Sheffield have them to order. Stephen

Let’s hope it can be restored to working, nice to hear a Sulzer in the midst of all the GM’s. Stephen
  20. Correct me if I’m wrong but wasn’t there a second 4-8-0t, no 901, while 900 ran as a 4-6-2t for a while by disconnecting the back pair of driving wheels. Their primary role was banking heavy freight trains up the long bank from Kingsbridge, as it was then, to Inchicore. Stephen
  21. PM sent. Stephen
  22. Lovely photos but I’m not sure what you’ve actually done, or am I being just plain dim. Stephen
  23. I’m not sure that the Cravens were ever wired for working with railcars. That was the original planet but it never seemed to happen. Stephen
  24. Is the footbridge your handiwork or did you get it from ANOther? Either way, it looks the DB’s. Stephen
