  1. Most excellent John, best news i've had in a while. Hope lives eternal for gareth & co. :-)
  2. I've held my tongue thus far. I always found the shop on Queens Street more focussed on panzers and dioramas of belfast street riots. Railmatch paints were the only thing in stock - couplers, point motors, track pins - all "next week" Was disappointed when they moved to boucher road big box territory for the tourist southerner especially but reckoned it made sense . I'd heard of RC enthusiasts with outrageous delays on repairs, and i understand why they occur - i'm prone to them myself. If there were only 30 hours in the day....but communication is paramount. None of us knows what pressures these lads are under, but i'd hope they would at least get talking to their punters and let them know whats going on. Modellers on this island have put up with a lot of crap for years, but would happily endorse their local hobby shop if they knew where they stood. Fingers crossed this gets worked out, and all gets sorted satisfactorily.
  3. 10 dolla, too bookoo...
  4. Last resort is me by the way :-) Good price, me love you long time.
  5. Perhaps contact des aka weshty - he has a hitlist of brassmasters who have form, and most of them are in the uk i believe. Aside from the great Tony Mirolo and Sirs Kearney and Flanagan in Ireland, I can't think of any else quite skilled in crankpins and rods and smeagol solder to do it. If you can get georgeconna to do it though, you're in for a bloody special treat. R.
  6. http://catalogue.nli.ie/Record/vtls000308290 Not sure, but i reckon that's a 62' flat with ridemaster bogies? Possibly just recycled the upper part if thats the case?
  7. Strictly for Northsiders only mind... :-)
  8. Correct gauge shooter for this hobby then :-) nice work thus far on the layout btw. R
  9. Superb indeed. Might i suggest getting those kickplates on lively, else any dropped parts will inevitably disappear under your cabinets.

  11. Yes dave, have some photos tucked away on the big rig, and will post tomorrow. Think they were from the yuku site.
  12. As long as there are plenty more opportunities for my missus to pause it and point out local houses/pubs/knackers, it should keep her happy for series six. I'll keep me headphones and respirator on for the sixth series running....
  13. More than welcome lads. Next "Airbrush Thingy" will take place in the new year, if there's interest. First one went on for 2 and a half hours, and I can't think of any topic that wasn't discussed, and plenty stock practiced on by the participants whatsmore. Richie
  14. She's worth it for £2, I'd a thought.
  15. Tank is not essential, but since you are investing, and planning to get stuck in, I'd get a decent compressor. If you fall out of love with it, gimme a roar, they hold their value TC802 is bang on for a starter unit. I have the 186 unit, and it is excellent. HTH Richie.
  16. Not this particular coach. More here Dive ... http://irishrailwaymodeller.com/showthread.php/793-Travelling-Post-Office
  17. Goldsmith wasn't on the year I learn Inglush. I just measured it off a drawing is all!
  18. Cement Bubble - From the outside of the flange on the solebar to the other side is 2189mm, a scale 28.7mm.
  19. Got to see this morning in Connolly - a stunning looking set. Even ended up in one of IE's photos grrrr...
  20. Like this thread? which you started? http://irishrailwaymodeller.com/showthread.php/2301-Nir-ballast-wagons?highlight=nir+ballast Anyway, as I said in that thread also, the 42' flat works as a basis for the wagon, and you would have to scratchbuild the hopper.
  21. Wickham Inspection Car ? I'll get me coat...
  22. More than likely it inspired their decision. Bring a bit of "modren 'merica" to ireland and all that.
  23. Oh the very thought of them parked up in a siding in limerick junction on a rainy evening, ghostly figures of wealthy passengers trudging up the road to the Bit & Bridle for a snakey pint.... it sounds all a bit like Stringfellows strip club in Parnell St!
  24. Since it will be operated rail side from IE - contractual obligation to clean them perhaps, thats about it. It sounds like this would be run at most on a monthly basis, would it be practical to have a one off (maybe with a spare) rolling around with a funky livery? Looking forward to something unique for the MK III's livery wise. I for one, welcome our new cash collecting mk3 buying overlords.
