superb. do my eyes deceive me but are there characters on stilts in one of the photos? and where did he get the angry dog from - the one about to bite one of the patrons! Would pay in to see that layout.
Yeah, you're right. It was 133 for scrapping.
[h=3]Short description of the contract or purchase(s)[/h]Iarnrod Eireann have up to 48 Class Mk III vehicles which require refurbishment. The vehicles are aprox.20 years old and we will require complete refurbishment including elements of heavy engineering.
IE put out a tender for refurbishment of 133 MK3 carriages in November 08, so in fairness they did make an effort. The economics mustn't have added up, as the contract was never awarded.
Found the drawing for this last night, so thought I'd post it up with photos.

Further information welcome. Bosko - Can you add this to the "Prototype Information" section please? Richie.
Now yer suckin dayzel! I have a couple hundred photos of them taken about a year ago down there. Will ask permission tomorrow from the owner if i can post them up - possibly the best and most comprehensive set of modeller/enthuiast friendly mk3 photos ever taken.
Hamill's in Belfast are the scrap merchants so one could assume since it's close to the port tunnel and motorway north they'd scrap them at the North Wall. Just a guess though...
Ha ha Nelson. Don't ever apologise about mess. Mess is good!
Keep up the good work. I admire your attention to detail and methodology and look forward to your postings. Richie
Astonishingly brilliant use of the english language given your bottled company! Having a little drop of powers meself whilst working on some supertrained honies - good times! If you find the snaps, ping them onto arrivals@glenderg.com and i'll skin them in all manner of peculiar liveries. Just don't ask for CIE green - it'll be handbags at dawn! Richie
Geordie, i'd hate to see you throw away some of that stuff. The pannier tank and/or 4-6-0 chassis and airfix body would be of interest. Would happilly delve into n gauge buildings if they would suit in exchange? Thoughts? Richie.
love the 4008 in black and tan Jhb, any chance you could send me the original and i'll try and do it for you over the weekend? As for guinnii, be sure and wash it down with something, preferrably with a bit golden heat!
