  1. I was bringing my son into the winter festival in Waterford today and noticed a shop on Patrick Street that used to be a boutique (which has since shut down) had some models of n gauge trains, 0 scale trucks some Irish ones also with Bell containers and a Lucey Transport truck, naval ships, second world war dioramas, military models. It wasn't open, has anyone heard anything about it. Rich,
  2. Ivan first of all it is great to see you posting again. I was really into the build of the model and it is good to know that you will be able to continue to build the model the way you want to. That was a touch finding the drawings through the MMSI. £50 does sound very steep, but that is part of the cost sometimes in the hobby. I look forward to seeing things progress once more. Rich,
  3. Best of luck Richie, I have no doubt that you will achieve top marks. Rich,
  4. I still have a role of 1mm tape from Railmatch Tom. It gets used very sparingly. Rich,

    A Class

I remember that one George, Those Nervous Animals. Rich,
  6. Great job Tom, they look exquisite. Very neat and tidy, the white stripes look great. Did you try the reverse masking method for the white lines. Top marks, Rich,
  7. I followed that myself Fran from the beginning. I don't think that Martin would do it again in a hurry though. His other skills in weathering and painting makes him one of the very best out there. Rich,
  8. Well done Popeye the wagons look amazing. It must be very satisfying to actually have them up and running. The fact that you are using your own chassis design and remaining as prototypical as you can is worthy of respect also. Rich,
  9. This is a great project and I'm delighted to see the update. All the hard work is beginning to pay dividends. I love that A class, it really captures the look and colour of the prototype. The buildings as always are superb. I look forward to more. Rich,
  10. I prefer them to the 66's myself. Rich,
  11. Go for it Fran. I suppose that we always go for the money shot when a loco or piece of rolling stock passes. The more uninteresting parts of a loco, wagon, coach, per way vehicle are as you have said of huge importance to modellers. Rich,
  12. It's nice to make a family day out if it Eamonn, it makes it more enjoyable. The women folk are usually ok about the hobby until they start seeing more and more models arriving, and then questions get asked. Rich,
  13. Sounds like a great day Eamonn. I remember the celebrations in Waterford when it was our 150th anniversary. I still have the book when the rails came to Waterford. It suffered a bit of damage during a house move but some invisible tape is holding it together rather well. Is that Mrs R and the the kid's in front of the Castle Express. Enniscorthy Station looks really tidy now. I was watching an old Markle video yesterday and there was some nice footage of Enniscorthy and all other stations between Bray and Rosslare. MK11's, Cravens, Park Royals, on loan 80 class from NIR. Some really old cinefilm as well from the seventies. Rich,
  14. Gotta put the exams first Nelson, that's the priority. If you put the same effort and all the detailed side of your modelling skills into your studies you will reap the rewards when your exams are over. You and Vincent are the future of this hobby, and on that note, the future is looking good. Rich,
  15. I remember going to the FAI Cup final in 1986 and on hearing about this place I thought I would make a quick diversion before heading into Dalymount. Alas the shop wasn't, or seemed to not be open for business anymore. On a similar note did anybody ever visit the model shop in Fermoy. It was a lovely place to spend a few hours and the owner (I think it was Tom) was a lovely man. Rich,
  16. In the current state of things that sounds like damn good news Eoin. It's great to see all the hard work yourself and Dave are doing is showing some reward. Rich,
  17. Cheers Fran, don't we just. Rich,
  18. Fran you legend, I've been after some shots of the small air dryer filter for a while. The box beside the air reservoir tanks needs to be hacked around a bit also as it is too small on the model, but it can be done. The weathering looks especially nice and understated on 220, like she hasn't been out of the paint shop that long. If you manage to get some shots of the triple filter on the other side of a 201 it would be hugely appreciated. Rich,
  19. Noticed it last night Stephen, it's a great idea and the sites just gotten better. As Richie has said the effort is hugely appreciated. Rich,
  20. The wagon looks great Nelson. The fact that the other comments are giving you the incentive to produce more of this great work is what makes this group tick. I can't wait to see more. Rich,
  21. Nice to see something happening in the west. The very best of luck with it. Rich,
  22. Great shot Noel. There's nothing like natural sun light to show a model at it's fullest potential. Seeing the four of them together really brings it home how great a model the babies are. Rich,
  23. Unfortunately I don't Seamus. My desktop hard drive crashed last year and all my photos are on it, and there were 2 photos of the cleaner. They can I hope be retrieved, but I'll wait until the silly season is over before I get it looked at. I will have a look around on the web and see if something shows up. Rich,
  24. It's a funny thing that the roofs on the MK111's never really weathered as bad as other coaches. I suppose as they were the top link coaches on the network that they kept them clean above the chassis. There was always a set in the wash plant at Heuston, as well as the machines that used to wash the sides from the platform. Rich,
  25. True Dave, bottle or draught man with the Cider. Rich,
