The sleepers & drainage look very poor in some of the shots - it'd need to be relaid & drainage work done if it was going to carry trains again. At least as a walkway, the alignment is preserved for possible future relaying

Council paid for the clearance work afaik

at least a walking track will preserve the alignment - not too much work to convert it back in the future should the need arise

Yellow line? Don't be silly - that'd mean H&S, which we all know is unheard of in the U S of A!

One thing is for sure - it'd be a straightforward paintjob to achieve on a model. It would mean having to remove the grab rails on the cabs, if they are not going to be refitted to 071 (or 629000001001107100000112etc...) Will SSM be doing the decals in the future?

While watching the Ireland v Austria match, every time I saw the Austrian keeper's kit, I thought of the new livery on 071! It even had the yellow warning panel! ;-)

Thank god! I had the misfortune of getting it into town from Nutgrove when it was running on the 16A route, and I don't know whether it was the driver or the bus, but it didn't exceed more than 30kph for the entire journey to Dame St.!
