  1. Have added Glenderg's excellent post to the articles section http://irishrailwaymodeller.com/content.php/323-Travelling-Post-Office
  2. They didn't hang about?! Anyone get one?
  3. send to admin @ irishrailwaymodeller.com if possible?
  4. Yep, the sidings are mainly wooden sleepers, outside the terminus, and the freight sidings will be almost entirely buried in concrete
  5. Absolutely cracking for 9 quid!! Lovely clean build too
  6. Hi Snapper - that link is not playing ball with me, any chance you could send me a hi-res for the site?
  7. I know What are up at the best versions I could find / have. I have a few higher resolution ones I am working on getting from members - and have added an appeal if anyone else has some! The higher resolution the better!
  8. Right! The summers over, the holidays done, the kids back at school and SWMBO likewise! Work can re-commence on Amiens Street! Not much has changed over the summer, other than the stock was cleared off the layout and a bit of a tidy was done. I'm hoping to clear the shed, so I can clear the rest of the attic in the coming week-10 days. This will let me remove the stock boxes to the storage end of the attic and allow me to commence building the rest of the mainline loop and branches. There have been a few trackplan tweaks over the summer, which I'll draw up and post shortly, I'm also contemplating swapping the original freight sidings and the coach sidings around. The freight sidings are between 6-6.5ft long, which is ample for most trains (happily take 6mkIIIs and maybe an EGV) but tight for freight (10 pocket wagons = no no). By swapping around I get three sidings that can near enough take full rakes, that have access to all platforms, and three 9.5 foot long freight sidings that wont give out about taking 10 container flats, pocket wagons, or whatever. The only trade off is that the pilot would need to shunt all freight rakes into platform 6 and be released by the loco taking the freight.... not entirely sure how prototypical that is Will post pics later today of what the carriage sheds look like alongside the SHED!
  9. Wow - just beautiful stuff!
  10. Lovely job lads - looks great and lovely to see the stock range all laid out to peruse!!
  11. Well spotted Anthony! Bloody hell they look good for lookie-likies!
  12. Great video - aye the A's are quite wide!
  13. I love the cackle of laughter from the driver filming! ;0
  14. Some lovely shots! Any video of stock moving? Looking great!
  15. The seeps (and generally the latching type solenoids) run on DC - ie: Analog. You need a DC circuit to manage them - they don't take power from the DCC bus
  16. Unless you run with DCC motors, then you hook them to the DCC bus, give them an address and just call them up when you need em. The throw much more slowly too, and quiet, more like the real thing.
  17. The plan would be to amalgamate the data here with that already contributed by Dave and others at http://www.irishrailmodels.com
  18. I also have a banged up hornby 040 I use for testing - it's already carrying lots of battle wounds, and with the short wheel base its an ideal test loco
