  1. Folks, Here is the pattern for the Y23 bogie. Enjoy
  2. Thanks Garfield, and thanks for the Wickham and P&T box shout out!
  3. Yup, not encouraging at all. In summary: Despite the €1.5m (still leaving a €1m shortfall), the Casino is a very round hole for a very square peg. 75,000 visitors to ensure viability. That's an average of 40 per hour six hours a day, six days a week. Malahide is just too out o fthe way for that footfall. Busaras is far more central, with less capital cost, less planning obstacles and a more deliverable audience (bus, tram, city centre parking etc.).
  4. Not quite. "In 2012, Dublin Tourism merged with Fáilte Ireland" http://www.failteireland.ie/What-We-Do/Our-History.aspx So, I would think queries about the Fry Collections ownership and proposed future should be addressed to Shaun Quinn, Fáilte Ireland's current CEO. See this link for comments about the suitability of the Casino area and funding. http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056164770&page=11
  5. Take the Public Account Committee approach and cut to the chase: Who owns the Fry Collection? Are this group Public or Private? Who is the board or singular head representative of ownership of the collection? Where do they want it? Have they finalised a decision for it's location? If not why? If yes, are they progressing? If not why-what are the reasons for the delay? (planning, location availability, lobbying, funding, political pressure at local, council, or national level?) Who are the interested parties pushing for one location or another?
  6. Hi all, Here's a little taster of what's to come. It's the test version of the Barrier Wagon Water Tank. More detail to follow in the coming days
  7. I've ordered my set. Very tasty looking!
  8. What's wrecking my head is that even the 80's stuff looks a lifetime ago. Never mind the 60's. Definitely getting old...
  9. ` Ivan, I very much appreciate that Thanks a million, Regards Des
  10. Shem, I figured a Bullant would make an appearance! Lovely job Cost c.€73? Were you caught for tax on importation? How many axles are being driven with that tasty job? I ask the questions as if it's just one powered axle, then a Black Beetle with one of the axles de-wormed might be a credible alternative, though at €55, there's not a huge saving, given the Bullant is completely customisable.
  11. What a collection. Total treasure trove. And large format colour format too.... Arrggggh!

  13. Well, I've just ordered one of each off Seamus. They are LOVELY looking!! It's been said before and I'll say it again. If you thought ten years ago that you'd be having high end 141s, 071s, 201,s Cravens and MK2s with Bachmannn horsing in high end resin irish buildings, your head would have exploded on the spot. Especially given teh size of the market. We're lucky lads all the same.
  14. What was the catchphrase on the old Amstel Lager ad? "This is going to be great!!"
  15. It just shows how much lovelier a nice D17 will be
  16. In fact it might be better to look at variations of blue-grey, rather than grey. Particularly if the road is made of limestone chippings as a lot of smaller non-asphalted roads would be in the Republic.
  17. That's the thing. A road is not matt black and white markings. Best advice, go outside, take a photo and then look at the result. Multiple shades of mid and light grey. Very fine black wet and dry sandpaper is useful as the road surface that you can then airbrush to get that graduated look. The off white marking (white and tiny bit of brown) can then be finely daubed on.
  18. At least I know that Boskonay is not monitoring and monotising my traffic, assuming copyright on any photo uploaded and hammering me with ads. Facebook? Nein Danke. Oh, most importantly, gorgeous model!
  19. He's a very forgiving Sensei, Dave.
  20. That really is a great photo. It looks like a quality diorama layout.
  21. Jayz John, that's very tasty. Really looks the job. Yes, I'd be very interested in sorting someting out!
  22. John, Lovely job and a most unique way of using the castings to get the side wall detail. Congrats.
  23. Youch! ASBO, 6 months in the 'Joy or armloss? It's clear which one would prove more effective....
  24. Horsetan, thanks a mill for this, very much appreciated and I will take you up on the offer, anything that makes construction easier is very much welcome, and your construction thread certainly does this! Happy new year.
