  1. It's a pretty plain vehicle from a photography point of view. Any particular area you're looking for?
  2. Good evening all, I've been a bit lax in posting here on the last month or so, so this large post will make amends to that! As always, click on any of the photos or album link to view them all --- First off was the National Steam Rally in Stradbally. Whilst I was volunteering, there was the chance or two to get some interesting photos! Also included in this album are a couple of Luas shots Album link - --- Moving on to other Luas photos, 18 August marked the start of fully signalled testing on the new Luas Cross City line, although not without a few issues! Album link - --- Sunday 27 August, and I popped out to the Curragh to get the Belmond passing, as well as have a look at the Plant Shop Album link - --- On 29 August I ended up in Limerick Junction, changing trains having come from Waterford. Luckily for me Retro liveried 073 was standing with a battered 086 on PW duties Album link - --- On 30 August I visited Dundalk and M3 Parkway as part of work and then got a few photos in Connolly and Park West whilst heading home. The main attraction at Dundalk were the stored RPSI Gatwick Express Mark 2's, the first time I have been able to see them up close. Album link - September will follow over the weekend! Regards, Kieran
  3. Are they the "new" spoil wagons?
  4. Good afternoon all, The allocated 071-class loco for the Belmond Grand Hibernian this weekend was freshly repainted and released 073, in the 1987 livery. I knew nothing about this, but timed my arrival at Heuston to co-incide with the Belmond shunts. I was pleased to see it alright! Click on any of the photos below to view them full size Album link (includes normal photos) - Regards, Kieran
  5. Good evening all, I've uploaded a selection of photos from this year's Irish Railway Record Society tour to Howth and Sligo. A day no without it's troubles! Booked loco 081 failed before departure with a bad oil leak. Loco 075 was then used from Connolly to Howth. Due to the signalling and infrastructure layout at Howth, Enterprise 227 hauled the train back to Connolly, providing the rare chance of a 201 on the Howth line. Due to operational reasons, 075 could not carry on the tour to Sligo, so (at one point) 227 was nominated for the trip to Sligo, which would have been the first passenger 201 to Sligo and only the second under it's own power. However, 085 was sourced from Inchicore and provided power to Sligo. All in all, a great day out and a good catch up with a few friends I haven't seen for a while. Many thanks to all involved who made the day happen, from those visible to those in the background months before As always, click on the photos below to view it full size, or the album link here - Regards, Kieran
  6. Good evening all, A few shots from the Nottingham area from last week, with Mapperley Tunnel, Gedling Colliery, Beeston and trams featuring. Click on any of the photos below to view them full size Album link - Regards, Kieran
  7. Good evening all, Yesterday I had a tour around Inchicore Works. Although the weather wasn't the best, still plenty around to hold the attention! My thanks to those in Irish Rail who facilitated us. Click on any of the photos to view them full size Album link - Regards, Kieran
  8. More details, this time of the HOBS. Click on them to view full size
  9. Evening all, A selection of photos from places ranging from Westport to Mallow and Dublin Pearse in what has been a varied week for me. Click on the photo below to view them full size Album link - Regards, Kieran
  10. Good afternoon all, A few shots from Inchicore yesterday, of the launch of 073 in the 1987 IR White Stripe "Tippex" livery. The rest of the photos from the week will be uploaded over the weekend Album link - Regards, Kieran
  11. Thursday Mr. Wanderer - Wednesdays is Killarney!
  12. Good evening all, A varied selection from the end of June from me, with shots from Inchicore, Stradbally, Boyle, Sligo, Heuston, Rosslare Europort, Limierck and Galway. Click on the photos below to view them full size Album link - Regards, Kieran
  13. Ah - I was looking at the link you posted! No problem! First coach in that formation (201+Galway Mk2's) looks to be 5411 (buffet). Second last vehicles looks to be a composite, as there is something braking up the livery
  14. First coach is a standard Craven. Second is the Mark 2 EGV. Rest are standard Mark 2's bar the 4th vehicle (54xx buffet) the second last vehicle (appears to be a Mark 2 composite but likely declassified)
  15. Well there is two ways it can go 1) Oxford do nothing and it's business as usual 2) They do a UK 442. If 2, I woul expect Irish Mark 3s to appear. Order could be the other way around.
  16. Good evening all, Another big update from me. Getting behind of these updates! First off, a few shots from Friday of the RPSI / Steam Dreams tour departing Connolly Album link - ---- Saturday was a birght, hot day. Perfect for the first trial runs across the Luas Cross City network! Album link - --- And finally, a few shots from Monday, with various movements for the RPSI / Steam Dreams tours Album link - Regards, Kieran
  17. Yep it's in the Enterprise waiting room on Platform 2 and will be touring the country, with a month in each location (don't have the locations handy). Popped my head in there a couple of days ago and looked impressive enough (as much as a series of self standing poster boards can be!)
  18. Good evening all, A few shots from Saturday first, with a trip to Cork chasing the Belmond on a private charter movement Album link - --- Shots from the past few days as well, with most from Connolly this morning for the Steam Dreams trip heading off Album link - Regards, Kieran
  19. As recently as 2009-2010 I believe, in the AECOM report
  20. Good morning all, A June update from me, as I've got a bit behind in posting here. Shots from Saturday 3 and Tuesday 6 June, featuring: -New logos on 29000s -071 on the Belmond -85 on the Midland Compound -Repainted 219 -076 and 086 on per way trains out of Portlaoise Click on any of the photos below to view them Album link - Regards, Kieran
  21. Thanks. I knew they weren't all the same but couldn't quite remember what got converted from what, especially regarding NIR's forced buying strategy. It doesn't help with the mods required for suburban use (centre doors being deleted from the 2B design) Bachmann only produce Mk2Z / Mk2A at present
  22. Hi Paul, Suitable stock would be early Mark 2s (so either 2A, 2B or 2C from memory depending on which set you choose). The power car and driving trailer would require substantial work to get right. If others have a better solution use them!
  23. To throw a spanner in the works there - we do have DMU's here. Both the timing type and diagrams state DMU for the 2600/2800/29000 fleets, not railcars. The only type to retain that title is the ICR fleet
